Not only that but Carrie is joining him. Fully understand why they would want to do that but it’s not exactly following the rules
I imagine it's a bit different when your first home is actually a functioning office and essentially a business premises
We don’t know for sure Carrie has it as she was never tested. Not doubting she has but it’s not certain. I can see why Boris didn’t go back to Downing Street and can see why he would want to be with his pregnant girlfriend. But a second home in the country doesn’t really send the right message. Scottish CMO resigned after just visiting hers
Not the man we need for these troubled times. Boris does blustering, cheery optimism to a tee. Announcing daily deaths isn't his bag.
I'm usually pretty wary of conspiracy theories, but I don't believe he was a deaths door a couple of days ago on ICU - no one who's genuinely "50/50" to survive this virus is going to be at home 3 days later walking and talking - I just don't believe it.
I suppose he didn't say that even if it was implied. Said it could have gone either way, which is very vague and can be interpreted many different ways. He was obviously ill enough to be in ICU and I suppose either way could mean if things had gotten worse. They would always use his illness to create a positive spin, that's just politics unfortunately.
I think Blair and Brown swapped cos of Blair having a larger family and I think johnson might ge doing the same when his baby arrives.
Politics aside I'm glad he's on the mend. I don't know anyone who has needed to go to hospital with it. I do know a few who've had it with flu like symptoms (well suspected they've had it, the dry cough, aching and temperature) . Their recovery was pretty fast. Back to feeling perfectly normal in a few days. Whether that's the same if the symptoms are worse and you recover, I really don't know. But there isn't just Boris in this, there are also the team of medical staff who cared for him, who he name checked in his thank you address today. These people will be easily traceable. We live in a world where twitter transmits information around the world in a blink of an eye. My experience of NHS staff is that many, not all, but a high percentage, aren't all that keen on the Tory party. If Boris was lying they'd be quick to set the record straight. I don't like the man, I certainly don't like him as a politician, but he'd have so much to lose if he lied about this. It would get out and his support would simply crumble.
In all honesty it could get out (not that I'm saying there was a conspiracy) but unfortunately the support wont crumble, excuses would be made and and believed.
A few unpleasant comments on here. I hope Boris makes a good recovery and gets back to work. On a slightly different topic - I've just come up with an idea how we can ALL protect our amazing NHS, and make the situation easier and cost less money. How about we start to develop a healthier lifestyle - cut out the junk food and sugar and Gregg's sausage rolls, fizzy sugary drinks and crap - or at least cut down and eat more healthily. Start to take some exercise - cut down on the booze or stop it altogether if you can. Don't smoke or vape. Then we could cut down on the number of heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, obesity and all the things that the NHS has to deal with and we could concentrate on treating sick people. Do I practice what I preach? Yes I do. I don't want to sound holier than thou - I used to smoke and drink heavily and I still have some issues with chocolate - I know changing lifestyle is not easy but it has great rewards.
Someone I work with, has spent two weeks in bed, ill with the CV19; recovered nearly well enough to think about returning to some sort of work.
