Yep - got to agree. His move to Sheffield was very difficult for us Barnsley fans to take - plus he wasn’t very complimentary when he left - which made things 10x worse. But clearly listening to the interview there were reasons behind that. So he’s redeemed himself there. Good interview.
I thought with his football career and now as an agent he would be rolling in cash. But the clock behind him was stuck on quarter to ten. Surely he's got a spare couple of pen batteries.
Just watched it. Another enjoyable interview and fair play to him regarding his move away, seems a really reasonable bloke. I agreed with his solution regarding the current debate on this season finishing as well.
Great interview, thanks for doing it and thanks to Brian for his honesty. Any plans to get Simon Davey up sometime soon?
It was an interesting idea that TBH, not one I've heard proposed elsewhere. Seems a really intelligent bloke.
Great interview that, well done Loko! It's brought up that bad feeling in the gut about Odejayi's miss though! Nightmare
It does and I agree with Brian had that gone in I think we probably would have gone on to win the game and most likely the cup - 2 of the best moments in my time as a Reds supporter were Howards goal against Liverpool and Kayodes goal against Chelsea, one of the worst was Kayodes miss against Cardiff
The interviews are great and gives us all something worthwhile to watch. Funnily enough 11 years ago yesterday he was on the Blunts bench along with Kyle Walker in a match they beat us in..... https://www.11v11.com/matches/sheffield-united-v-barnsley-07-april-2009-284840/
I was in the East Stand and witnessed first hand the abuse Brian suffered that day when we learned he was going to Sheffield United. Like many, I felt really aggrieved because he had after all been our skipper and one of our more influential players. I asked the question, was there an underlying reason for the move, because at the time it all happened, I personally sensed that all was not well down at " the Well". Last nights interview confirmed that initial suspicion and forced me personally to look at Brian in an entirely different light.Collective thanks go to him for his consistent performances and the happy memories he gave us all in the Red of Barnsley and to Loko the Tyke, for his time in preparing and presenting what turned out to be a very professional and extremely informative interview. Fantastic feature, look forward to those yet to come.
Do you know what ? He was hung out to dry just like many more at BFC . I always knew that ive spoke to him several times since he left. However he kept silent . Theres so much goes on that fans never know. Were kept in the dark thank god
The common thread that links the players that leave us always seems to be money. They love playing for the Club, but when contract renewals are on the agenda, we don't seem willing or able to compete. Daniel Nardiello went to QPR, presumably because we weren't prepared to match their offer and Brian Howard and Neil Redfearn both left, because they could earn more elsewhere, although in Redders case, I recall part of the attraction in moving to Charlton, meant he could continue playing Premiership football. If I had have known Brian Howard's connection with Conor, without wishing to cast any aspersions and in an attempt to dissipate the conjecture once and for all, I would have asked if Brian were able to confirm or deny that Conor actually received an offer to stay at the Club during that fateful January window.
