I accept my initial response was flippant and I should have explained exactly what I meant. It's obviously ******** to suggest that this is the first restriction to apply to me. I've refrained from visiting relatives and pubs etc even before we were told to, because there was a benefit to doing so. And stopping me going out for a run doesn't benefit the greater good. That's entirely my point.

It's not. As long as you do it once a day and without driving to do so.

But your attitude of "I'm going to do what I want" suggests that you won't do this.

We'd not be kept inside just for the fun of it. There would have to be some sort of logic to it.

When you consider that if everyone in London decided that they were going to go out running, then it would probably be impossible to always stick to the social distancing rules.

I myself object to the idiots spoiling it for the rest of us by ignoring the rules, but I fear you may be joining the idiot brigade if you do not do as instructed, irrespective of how illogical it might seem to you personally.

I will. Feel free to look back through my history of posts on Covid 19 and you'll see I take this very seriously. I haven't left the house this week other than one shop for essentials and to exercise. I'm not saying I'll do whatever I want, as I've made clear in my posts since my initial knee jerk flippant response.

Exercise once a day? Is that advice or the law?

    It's government advice.

Obviously you won't do prison time if you flout it though. You'll just be a proper ****** spoiling it for the rest of us.

f**k sake how hard is this to understand, yes driving to a supermarket is ok. Driving to go for exercise is both stupid and irresponsible. Walk there if it’s only a mile!

Why because I have to to go out with the Dog twice a day?

There were more people outside M&S yesterday morning at half 7 than Ive seen

    A) walking the dog away from my immediate location.
    B) on the field where we play ball.

Mostly because i go out early doors and late on when everyone else is either still tucked up or fed watered and watching the idiot box.

I wouldnt even get arrested if I was stopped by the Old Bill nevermind time for it.

Even in this new age of State dictatorship there is still some common sense.

Something that people are slowly losing the grasp of.

If you want to call people out for it then have a trip around London, Sheffield, Rotherham...

Thats where the idiots are flouting the advice quite blatantly.

Not a bloke out having a run.

just because “they’ve said” doesn’t make it any less stupid or irresponsible. You are perfectly able to walk, why not just do it.

you drive and have a crash, vital NHS resources are potentially taken away from helping those in need to help the irresponsible ones driving for non essential journeys. Simple enough?

We are very lucky as our road to to bottom is 2km long, nearest neighbour is 250 metres away and there are only half a dozen properties and we are surrounded by fields and an olive grove. Taking the long way round on the gravel drive from our drive entrance to the kitchen door is 75 metres. We could walk down the road but the Carabinieri are up and down all day long as anyone using it means they are travelling between comunes which is strictly essential journeys only.

As an aside, its funny how many 'essential' journeys there seemed to be at around lunchtime today as there were loads of cars up and down around 12:30 then again at around 3pm . One was probably 'bricking it' as there were three in the car and a Carabinieri Alfa Romeo about 10 metres behind him probably waiting for a suitable place to pull him over (unless he already had and was 'escorting' him to make sure he was going where he said he was:rolleyes:)

You walk and break your ankle slipping off the kerb edge.

    You pop your ligaments running

You fall off your push iron
