Pleased to hear that Hecky is " re-connecting". Irrespective of what happened regarding his move to manage over in West Yorkshire, he will be forever revered as the Coach who led us to two memorable victories at Wembley in the same season.
Thing is - it’s hosted by the club. So are we really going to hear what he thinks of his time at the club under the current owners and under the stewardship of Ganaye? That would be like someone walking into a pub and immediately shouting abuse at the landlord. I would be very surprised if that happened. The litmus test of this is if Hecky admits that the position at Barnsley was made so bad that he decided to leave when the next club came in for him. As it happens - that club was Leeds. He didn’t want to go to Leeds - he just wanted to get away from Barnsley - the club he actually loves.
Just an FYI but it's led by the Supporters' Trust not the club. I only told Whitey about it in the last hour. Not sure how you could interpret it any differently? We're taking an initial view that right now we all want positivity during the lockdown. We're not interested in riling up the club vs. fans vs. board debate as it's meant to be some light entertainment for fans of all ages that are stuck at home. We also want to encourage other ex players to come on in case the situation we're in goes on for a number of weeks. The guests will also sign off on all the questions in advance and rightly so in my opinion.
I hope it's all positive. And not the Judas rubbish. Hecky is a great coach . The 2 wembley finals were epic. We all need to move on . We can't dwell on the past.
I have an image of YN pumping up his tyres and checking the lights on his bike as I read this message
He didnt want to be here for over 6 months before he left he changed his agent in the summer prior to the leeds move and was in the mix for every job going sunderland, forest.... leeds were the club who actually wanted him. Fair play to him he has done well and made some money from his last 2 failed jobs. I wonder if he has plans on trying to get back into management again when football eventually resumes.
When you said streaming Redfearns Bar - I thought you meant streaming it from the bar itself. But looking at it again I think this might not be the case. As for light fun and entertainment. Hecky is too much of a controversial figure for that to happen. Bad first choice if that’s the intention.
My Son tells me he's seen Hecky at home games recently. Sits near the half way line in the East Stand Upper tier apparently. Also sees Aidy Moses and Chris Morgan who also attend games.
