Doubt it like l said read the China and italy threads, you know full well that people werent taking it serious. You're probably that pedantic though that because they havent written the sentence "I'm not taking it serious" you would pull it up.
I think you're misrepresenting people. Advocating a different approach is not the same as not taking things seriously. And I'm not being pedantic, I'm questioning the need for divisive posts and calling people out, trying to pour scorn on others because I really don't think this is the time.
That's the reason l havent risen to you and called individuals out, merely told you to look for yourself. I know you're expecting me to name you, I'm sorry for disappointing you l didn't think you were one of the posters by the way.
Which it is in a lot of ways or it has the same (similar symptoms), without treatment kills the same number of people, the same demographics etc. The difference is that with flu we know what drugs can treat it, with this we don't. Saying it's like the flu isn't playing it down, it's making a fairly accurate comparison. Comparing covid-19 to something that kills half a million people a year isnt a case of not taking it seriously. I'd say the opposite, it's taking it very seriously. If anything people have been far far too lax and selfish in their attitude towards flu for years. It kills half a million people a year and yet we didn't even care enough about those people to learn how to wash our hands or how to cough safely.
It doesn’t have the same symptoms as flu though except in very mild cases It’s a respiratory disease that attacks the lungs.
WHY OH WHY are people still trying to outsmarten each other, irrespective of wots bin said an dun in the past just put it to bed, theres people fooookin dying out there from an horrible virus, lets all bury our hatchets [ not in each others heads ] and give each other the support and respect we all can. Tek care all of you and good luk over the next GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. X. Im a bit of a co ck at times but nows not the time.
Flu can also attack the lungs by causing pneumonia which is why it kills half a million innocent people every year.
Which was the whole point of those posts by people The government is holding press conferences every day saying X number of people died . What if they did that every day gave those numbers out. the number of people who normally die of flu per day ,alcoholism(1 in 5 hospital admissions) suicides ,smoke related , vulnerable ill people with underlying conditions etc who die every day because people don't know or these numbers are not told to us its just part of daily life they are forgotten people nobody cares nothing is done about it and there's no baseline to the numbers they are giving out that people can relate to. The government models are showing around 5700 for total amount of expected UK deaths as of yesterday. As far as that post it is written very oddly by the person telling what happened just doesnt read right. A man(biker) walked unaided into Hospital last Sunday and was put into a induced coma immediately which doesn't make alot of sense. that's usually the last step not the first step/s they tested him and he was positive for Covid-19 . A test that takes days to get results via motorcycle courier. and in the Chronicle this week a biker from barnsley did die that sunday afternoon in a motorcycle accident which seems a bit of a odd coincidence. hopefully its not true but i guess it will be inevitable ? that we will have a number of deaths here. 2 would be a lot and at this stage a anomaly based on the confirmed cases here.
The story is true but the man lived in Somerset not Barnsley. He is just friends with someone from Barnsley through a shared interest. He walked to an ambulance on Sunday and passed away at lunch time Wednesday. He was 65
Please read this. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-does-the-flu-actually-kill-people/ Covid-19 is a flu like virus. It is of the same family as other flu and cold viruses we already know about. In the younger population it doesn't appear to cause as many serious cases as other flu viruses we have been exposed to all our lives. That's not to say there are no serious cases in younger people, just that there are fewer. For most younger people symptoms are mild. The difference between this virus and other flu viruses is not how deadly it is, it is that we have no resistance to it, be that by way of vaccination or from previous exposure. It can infect everyone and therefore passes through the population very quickly. Usually a flu virus is blocked. It doesn't infect those vaccinated, those who have had the strain recently, and so these people don't pass it on and it struggles to get the same stranglehold.
If you have flu or any other similar bug you could infect a vulnerable person and kill them. So its interesting that we have a number where that becomes unacceptable to the point of shutting society down. If Covid19 was a lot less infectious and would only kill say a couple of thousand people nothing would have changed. The people it killed would be just as dead though. Now I'm not saying we should do nothing, just find the morality aspect interesting.
