If these experts are right in there theory’s about social distancing for possibly the next 18 month then it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we don’t see a ball kicked again this year!

if that was the case à wonder if they’d contemplate finishing this season when they start back up and essentially miss out the whole of the 2020-2021 season? At least there’d be no debates about who goes up and who gets relegated etc

To be honest if they do continue this social distancing for that long then football will be the least of our problems as the country will be back in the dark ages by then anyway.

Agree with all who say football is the least of our problems but the football league are not helping with the will we won't we approach. Just cancel the bl**dy season then we can all forget about it .Cricket are the same on news this morning saying could start in May...……………...Jesus !!! just hope were all still here and safe to see the 20/21 season start when it does.
Lets concentrate on important stuff like naming and shaming people we kno are stockpiling food and bog roll and getting together on Thursday at 8pm to applaud the NHS

    Rant over...soz..

The football league haven't adopted a will they won't they approach. Their approach is quite clear. When they can they will.

Obviously I need to stop listening to Talksport etc, clearly heard debates this week on Talksport and 909 about kicking back off. sadly these are ex pro's and people close to the football league
who are talking June/ Oct/Nov etc. . clearly watched Michael Vaugh this morning talking about May.....

They need to sing from the same hymn sheet matt because if there was a clear steer on this this thread would not exist...

They have, sort of. We've had one extension to the postponements which is completely understandable because the situation has developed rapidly. However we are now in a position where they should be doing the sensible thing and just cancelling this season and monitoring how things progress so they can now make announcements re: the start of the 2020/2021 season.

To be perfectly honest I can’t see any sport for 6 months at the very least. It doesn’t seem to matter at the moment and from someone who’s life has largely revolved around it I can’t believe I’m saying that.
As many people as possible surviving and getting back to something like a normal live with an income coming in is far more important at this time.

Interesting to see Burnley are the only Premier league team to be training as normal.

If games are still played in order so our first game back is QPR away we will sell out it out despite our poor form there. Both tiers will be rammed with our biggest ever following there.

If it goes beyond 30th June, which I’m fairly sure it will, the season will almost certainly be cancelled

Probably needs a bit more thought but why not aim to complete 2019/2020 season by say the end of November or December (obviously if possible), then have a winter break for a couple of months and commence with a 2021 season on say 1st March 2021. That way we convert to summer football and watch in the sunshine rather than the friggin' cold.
    Just a thought.

I can't see me being able to afford going to a match in a very long time. I really think there are more important things in this world to worry about.

There are so many imponderables to think about now. Staying healthy, keeping a roof over your head & the very big chance of massive civil unrest.

There is probably nothing on Netflix as far fetched as the current situation.

Most cricket counties in England can't survive the summer without any cricket (financially).
