Lock down monitoring works here in Italy but the Carabinieri, various police divisions and above all the voluntary Protezione Civile organisations means lots of bodies on the ground. You have to remember that with total lock down there are far fewer people around to monitor so whilst in normal circumstances the Army Police etc are stretched there are few people around. Last night I stood outside in the garden at around 7 pm and I can see for two or three miles in most directions including a two or three mile stretch of the main road. There was not one vehicle to be seen and all I could hear was one dog barking in the distance. Most Italians are pretty much following the directives and those very few breaking the rules are being caught and reported. There is far less divisiveness here and people are coming together and, by and large, supporting the Italian Government unlike the UK!
ME too got 4 eggs 14 mars bars 14 snickers and 14 double deckers, if its lock darn for 2 weeks I need mi choklat.
Son-in-law was driving near Silverstone today and has also told me he saw a huge convoy of military vehicles
See usually I'd dismiss this as yet more ********, but there were quite a lot of military vehicles coming off at J21 of the M1 earlier.
Correct! There’s isn’t enough military as stated for starters and let’s not forget the elephant in the room, we are all human with families and loved ones too prone to corona virus. Last time I looked, we didn’t have cyborg soldiers! Ffs!
Didn’t see any military on the way to Whitby and back today, go figure Fish and chips for lunch were cracking an’all

That's exactly what I hope to still be able to do next Tuesday for my birthday, as I can't think of anywhere else we could go.
