Cant' see this being enforceable. All they can do is give advice. I am pretty much self isolated at the moment, but don't tell me I can't walk down to the Asda to get groceries. Hang on - they haven't got any left!! I can still go for a walk if I like...and who's going to stop friends and relatives visiting if they want to....only me....

Unfortunately this is the attitude that gets people killed.

“how can they tell me to stop in”

when stopping in is the best thing for you.

Anyone remember what happened to the North Korean diplomat who refused to self-isolate?

i am stopping in. Not going to the gym, social groups and pretty much self isolating unlike the majority - but going for a walk or bike ride by myself is no risk to anyone and I’ll continue to do it. My mental health and physical fitness is important to me. What are you doing?

It says they “could” be jailed not that anyone has been. It’s pretty unenforceable in my opinion. Not to mention being a waste of time and resources that could be better spent elsewhere.

Can we stop it with the non footy related posts? I thought this was a football forum. We can read about this stuff in the newspapers. ;)

I hope it isn't rigidly enforced, when it happens, but i do hope we look after family, friends & neighbours who are affected. Phones & social media still allow us contact, even if we may have to be at arms length away for a while. My feeling is if someone over 70 wants to carry on with life, they are entitled to take the possible risks, but hope that no one is forced to take those risks out of necessity, just because they have no support. A lot of groups, including the Labour Party are getting volunteers in place for people in need. They might not be just over 70's, also people in high risk groups.

I'm sure that 'North Korean coronavirus' passes easily between humans, whereas 'British coronavirus' is completely safe.

Crack on, then. Out you go. If you get arrested or shot, it's on you.

(Or if you get coronavirus, or pass it onto someone else. All on you. But do what you want.)

How is it unenforceable ? they've set up road blocks passed a law ! Do you think they gonna just slap the legs of anybody trying to break this embargo ? I think your just using your opinion rather than looking at the facts imo . Maybe just maybe they havnt gaoled anyone because no one there is stupid enough to break the embargo after seeing what their country is going through .’

It’s not just themselves they are risking if they go out unless they are willing to die quietly at home if they get it. It’s like when people won’t evacuate and then put others at risk. If they catch it and take up a bed and ventilator and someone else dies then it’s their fault. They would also be putting the staff who care for them and their families at risk. The law is to stop the NHS becoming overwhelmed.
