Start all over again next season in the Championship. No promotion or relegation. Just collateral damage that’s all.Oops title should read methinks, stupid auto correct
Golf tournament cancelled not postponed because of difficulty finding dates to play.If and i say if this situation goes on into june and july and even longer where do we start next season.Easy to say well just start later.I say this through my red glasses but scrapping this season might be the only thing to do save next season.
Coming to a commercial break near you... (Scene - a bloke wearing a Leeds scarf, wandering dejected down a back alley. Homepride music playing.) "Yesterday this football supporter thought the world was a wonderful place, full of special memories, and the promise of a golden future. Now, like so many others, his heart is broken. The tattered scarf he wears all day, every day, is the only reminder of what might have been. Here at The Jokes On You Sunshine Trust, we understand the despair and misery of football-inflicted pain. For a small donation of fifty pence, we can provide this man with a VHS copy of "Leeds United - The Bremner Years". It might just be enough to make him smile again. Please give generously."
Easy to say when your club is in very serious danger of being relegated. So this would be an unexpected get out of jail free situation. But what about my club. We are top of the league. Struggling lately to put results together but fortunately far enough ahead that promotion to the premier league is almost assured. Your plan would mean we start again next season still in the championship when we have done enough to warrant getting promoted. I’m worried that your suggestion might be taken up by the authorities.
That's why I think it will be declared null and void too many counter arguments to solve amicably so it's the harshest but easiest outcome.
And would you have the same opinion if Barnsley were top of the championship looking like favourites for promotion. Honestly would you?
Honestly I'd be doing same mate. When all's said and done I'm a Barnsley supporter and want us to stay up by hook or by crook.
I can’t see season being written off tbh, wishful thinking on our part I think. No idea how it’ll be sorted out though tbh....maybe a series of play off matches possibly?
I wasn’t having a go at you mate. Just wanted to post the opposite view of what might happen. Tbh I have a foot in both camps but I doubt there will be two different out comes.
I blame Nicola Sturgeon she called for everything banning and it's being banned and the virus started in a fish market.
Joking aside I wonder if clubs in the nitty gritty have their legal teams looking into things already?
Who was joking? I would imagine clubs will be worried about cash flow. Players still need paying and with no income through the gates and will tv money cease? Many clubs just keeping afloat. This might change drastically.
Cant cancel season. Liverpool not won prem for 30 years. 6 pts away from holy grail. Same for leeds really and return to prem and wba. Also coventry and swindon.
I see where you're coming from Ian but wouldn't clubs have already factored this in with season ticket sales at the beginning of the season and when offering contracts to players they could afford. You never know whose paying on foot any way mate. I can only see a problem if the jobs worths at trading standards and the government rule that season ticket holders are entitled to refunds on unused fixtures.
