Do you know, as soon as I posted it I realised I'd get that reply. I usually try to be a bit smarter than that !
Coronavirus will be miraculously gone and no spectators will be harbouring the virus after that time. Hallelujah or as Tommy Cooper said "just like that".
At a guess we may end up with relegation / promotion playoffs if they can't finish the season in time. Bottom 3 (4) vs Top 3 (4) of each lower league.
Infections (and infections rates) are predicted to fall as the weather gets warmer, so the summer *could* be relatively ok. It is then likely to increase again in the autumn/winter as temperatures drop (like cold/flu does).
I just think that the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Do the boring things that bring you into contact with people like go to work and travel on public transport. However, suspend the things you enjoy.
I still think play offs is a less likely scenario than completing the season, and cancelling it. My guess is that plan A will be to cancel the Euros, complete the season in the summer, and potentially start next season later. Not sure how a winter world cup in 2022 will affect this however.
Not convinced by that argument Australia Singapore etc have a fair few cases so it may slow down but the number of carriers will increase. It may well drop in the summer though as we pass the natural peak and people either recover with immunity or die. At least it may delay our defeat at QPR for a few weeks - or if the season is eventually abandoned mean we have a quiz question in years to come - in what season did we have a 100% record against QPR
Not sure this is even about the fans now. Arsenal, Everton and Bournemouth have their squads in self isolation. Man City and Leicester have players in isolation. Can't expect clubs to fulfil fixtures in current climate
