Sooner or later if the coronavirus problem continues their is going to be more and more games either cancelled or played behind closed doors. Its already started and is likely to get worse. So what happens do we cancel the season or play to empty stadiums which nobody seems to want.Good for us, luton, norwich etc,but bad for leeds, coventry etc. if they cancel season.Who qualifies for champions league. There would be a problem extending season with the euros coming up.

No way will season be just scratched off. Think league would finish as it stands if an extension isn’t possible. Can definitely see Euros being cancelled.

My feeling is top flight games would e played behind closed doors, with games broadcast via subscription, but not available in pubs. How far down the football pyramid that would go I'm not too sure though.

Maybe they will open up iFollow for domestic viewing. Season ticket holders get it as part of their tickets.

Would be shocked if it would finish as it stands. Promotion and relegation could not be as a given. Too many clubs would fight over the issue. That those in with a chance of promotion or more so the clubs relegated would take the issue to task. And the way the efl deal with matters in a such a quick manner ( sarcasm) it'll take till 2021/22 to sort. The only way would be to play behind closed doors for the rest of the season. ( And that's if all players are quarantined till the seasons end.) So given the way the virus is spreading, I'm of the opinion the season would be scratched.

The biggest problem I see around playing behind closed doors is the fact that unless the virus is contained. Only essential workers will be allowed free movement. Footballers/sportspeople are probably at the bottom of the ladder. The Government would not propose self confinement and allow the football authorities to ignore.
Which cements my feeling that cup competitions will be scrapped and the leagues either suspended till the worst is over. Or indeed scratched.

If the season gets cancelled we will rightly be relegated as we are in the bottom three. Football is for the fans and so it wouldn't seem right to play behind closed doors. However if it's a choice between relegation from a cancelled season or tiny chance of staying up by playing remaining games with nobody there then I would pick the latter.

Wigan have been playing their home games behind closed doors for years.

I'd rather accept we're not good enough and descent to League 1 and end this sorry mess.

While I'm not panicking in any way, just going about my business, keeping calm, I can't say I'm not concerned about the situation and what does or doesn't happen to the football season is the very least of my worries. There are so many more important issues it's difficult for this to even register.

I think the fairest result is no promotion or relegation and start the 2020/21 season with everyone in their current divisions ;).

It’s difficult to see how they can do anything else really. No-one can assume any outcome and predictions aren’t 100%

No doubt if the season is cancelled and relegation/promotion are also cancelled, Arsenal will demand a vote, bribe everyone and we'll be sent down.

Closed doors wouldn't make difference to Wednesday, not in the second half anyway, they all leave after half an hour these days :D

Quite a few Budesliga games going ahead behind closed doors this weekend including the Dortmund v Schalke derby. Different regions can make their own decisions to some extent. Bayern Munich playing all their home games with closed doors till after Easter. My team, Fortuna Dusseldorf , is without fans on Friday but no decision on further games yet (we are booked for 2 in April....at least I gave back word on tickets for Munich on Easter weekend and didn't book anything).

Public gatherings of over 1000 also banned in some regions.

Hoping all is ok for us to go but will be keeping an eye on the news and official advice.

Not sure i can bear another season like this one with no doubt the loss of at least Woodrow! Given that more than 3/4 of the season has been played it either has to be behind closed doors or postponed or positions as they stand now.

Their government are competent and have handled it very well, so far.
