What does he say to the accusations from the vast majority of supporters that, after months of silence, his reappearance is deliberately just in time for season ticket renewals? Does he acknowledge that it looks like he and his bosses are treating us like idiots? What is his excuse for promising to be more open, apologising for his lack of communication and then repeating the same silence before eventually apologising for it again? How many times can one person apologise for the same thing? How many times should that apology be accepted? He must know the I'll feeling towards our owners and therefore the club at the moment and must be aware of the unprecedented number of long term season ticket holders who have signalled their intent to end their season tickets in may. As we all know the hardest tickets to sell are to lapsed season ticket holders who have broken that habit. With that in mind what has he and his bosses arranged in the way of a significant price reduction for next season to attempt to change the mind of these supporters? How does he think Patrick Cryne would feel about what he and his bosses have done to this club after the great rapport and community feel that he built up with the fans? In the summer Daniel begged for experience. Absolutely begged for it. You did not deliver any experience Dane which ultimately led, one way or another, to the departure of a manager who had galvanised the fans. Considering that the new manager has been allowed to bring in experience does he now accept that this complete refusal to back the manager in the summer was wrong? Why did he himself state that he wouldn't be giving any details on Daniel Stendels departure because of legal reasons only to then put out a statement many weeks later saying that the reason was not legal reasons at all but was out of respect to Daniel? Why the completely contradictory statements? Does he understand how that makes supporters mistrust him? Why do we have a part owner in Paul Conway who refuses to speak to Barnsley fans but will happily discuss Daniel Stendels departure with the media of Scotland? Does Paul and do you realise how disrespectful that is to fans of THIS club who you own and work for? James Cryne set up a business that involved football data. Does that mean that we pay money for access to and use of 'the spreadsheet'? Does he believe that he has delivered on the premise of an improved matchday experience? Can he elaborate? Will refunds be issued to season pass holders who were mis-sold? Why did he sanction the signing of so many mediocre players in the summer only to very quickly acknowledge we had too many players? Does he believe it is professional for the manager to publicly state that certain players will no longer be allowed to play for the club? Was that a decision taken by the manager or be yourself and the owners? Does he acknowledge the hypocrisy of complaining when players wish to leave and then throwing the teddy's out of the cot when you want to sell them and they would prefer to have their contract honoured? Our owners were attempting to buy a Scottish club earlier in the year. That would have been a conflict of interest under UK rules. Why were our owners so happy to proceed with this and why did they think this information wasn't relevant to supporters of this club? When they bought the club our owners stated that they had an option to purchase the ground in six months. That hasn't happened. Why not? If it is because a price hasn't been agreed then does that not mean that no option existed? What would he consider his biggest success and biggest failure in his time at Oakwell? If he left tomorrow what would he like to be remembered for and what does he think he would realistically be remembered for?
I don't think this is that club anymore. Same ground, same colour shirt and same badge but that's all.
Is that the one where you're never sure what's going to happen until the ball comes back out of the box?
Fantastic questions especially as they lied to their fanbase with false advertising. The first handful or so of matchday programmes mentioned the winning season pass holder of a specfic competition and then it was quietly dropped. I wonder what they will expect fans to pay an extra 15 quid for this time. Maybe another hat and scarf to add to the collection.
Can i ask in light of the board taking over.....they stated they were here for the "long term" can he state what the consortium would deem, long term here at barnsley. In comparison with Nice where a similar claim was made, only to leave within 2 years.
Who’s decision was it to sign 3 centre backs all aged 21 from abroad with no championship experience to replace Lindsay, Pinnock & Jackson. If it was an individual is he / she still employed at the club? Can we have some kind of promise from the club that they won’t do anything as ridiculous in the future? Will we stop paying transfer fees for almost every player in the squad? Surely some of these fees would be better used on wages of free agents to allow us to compete for a slightly better & experienced player.
Are Diamonds Forever? Will Dougall ever be allowed back on the Magic Roundabout? Is Gerhard prone to putting on the Ritz too much?
Honest answer, Dane - no corporate-speak buzzword sh*te - does it concern you, at all, how big a disconnect there currently is between the club and the fanbase, and how quickly the goodwill and ‘one Barnsley’ mentality has evaporated over the last 12 months??
This with bells on! Seriously I would like to know if they have any idea how much the current regime and their way of doing things is alienating the fanbase
- When Mr Stendel left, we were told that we released a 21 word statement for legal reasons. At a later date, Mr Conway then stated that this was done out of respect for Mr Stendel. Which one was it and who was lying? - When does the phrase 'keeping in touch' mean, regarding contact with Mr Struber whilst Mr Stendel was still head coach. Does Mr Murphy feel that this was fair on Mr Stendel? - What is the current position of Bambo Diaby? Is he suspended by the FA? Is he suspended by the football club? Do we have a date in mind for him to be found guilty or cleared? - Is Mr Murphy happy with our transfer dealings over the past 12 months
Does the club have any intention whatsoever of working to improve the car parking arrangements having knackered them up with the mis-siting of the Fan Zone. Also, do they intend to liaise with Barnsley MBC regarding the absolute chaos on the roads around Oakwell before and after a match?
Have you (Dane) and the owners now realised that this club will go nowhere but backwards with this plan and transfer policy as is in the English football leagues. Do you now recognise by us propping up this league and bound for a second successive relegation in three years, have the realisation that we need to 1. Get proper market value for our better players. 2. Have suitably footballing equipped players already signed up to replace the above. 3. Stop scouring European weaker leagues for cheap footballing punts and reinvest the future market value transfer income on decent quality youth from these shores as mr Cryne endeavoured to do. 4. Continue to add a couple of older heads into the mix who can lead the youth effectively in a game of football. If not, what is your re-jigged master plan going to involve?
Have the board and owners underestimated the passion of European (English) football fans and the way this permeates into their interest of all aspects of the running of their club on and off the pitch? Did they misunderstand the manner in which we feel the club is 'ours'?
1. What is the actual plan for this football club? 2. Why do you apologise for the deafening silences yet continue to tell us nothing? 3. When the inevitable player sales occur this summer (I accept this as a necessity), is there any chance that the club will achieve the player’s actual worth? We repeatedly see other clubs selling other players with very similar profiles and records, or not as good in some cases, for much higher fees.
