Never been a fan. Obvious skill, but lacking in application, particularly defensively, and poor game management giving the ball away far too often.

Then the game away at Fulham and for the first time I think, ok, he seems to have finally got it. Great work rate, looked like a Championship midfielder. We win the game. He's selected for the next two games and we win those too.

Then, inexplicably, he's dropped. And we lose both games. And the performances of the team and his replacement are poor.

    Why did we do this?

He was poor against Hull and was rightly hooked, in my opinion. However, to then not get a look in, does seem a bit strange.

I’d have him back in next game. Both him and Dougall in for Thomas and Ritz and then we can move Mowatt forward.

He’s 10 times the player of Ritzmaier.

How Ritzmaier gets in the team in front of Bahre is beyond me. And neither of them are good enough.

I thought exactly the same today, I'm far from.his biggest fan but I thought he was harshly dropped for a player (ritzmaier) who seems to offer nothing at all. He is like when you played for a juniour team as a young en and the coach would always pick his son every game regardless ritzmaier is like strubberss son who he loves to play.

He only played because Ritzmaier was injured. As soon as he was fit Bahre was dropped despite playing far better than Ritzmaier has in any game I’ve seen so far. Expect Radlinger back as soon as he is fit too

I honestly think there's something strange going on with team selection at Oakwell. I have no proof, and I can't back this up, but to me something's not right. Players getting subbed after 20 minutes. Players being dropped after decent performances. Players being picked again after poor performances. Players frozen out who are arguably better than players being picked. Players being subbed when playing well, and not subbed when playing poorly or obviously tired. Players playing out of position, or on the wrong side. Team being changed after a good performance.

I wish I knew what was going on. It's almost as if someone with little or no football knowledge may be contributing to picking the team.

Im one of Bahre's biggest fans. I think he was rested after playing very well as his Achilles heel (imho) is his consistency and i believe stuber thought he needed resting.
It is no coincidence that we play better with him in team, as he is a footballer and he gells the midfield by keeping possesion better.
Im not sure with cardiff's (ahem) style if he would have made a difference, mowatt had a relatively poor 2nd half and he too is a player.
In recent games i have witnessed Thomas, Ritzthingy and others try to thread passes through and fail miserably. However if mike had done half as badly there would have been an outcry on here. He also gets abuse for his shooting (he is poor tho) but other than Woody and Chaplin we dont have anyone who are competent at this skill.
Imho ....the guy is a very good young player, he has let himself down a bit this season but im not sure id pick others we have mentioned ahead of him.

Agree, bizarre tactics and selection .
Certain players can do no wrong must be a training thing that’s all I can think of .

I think Bahre & Thomas should be battling it out for the slot on the right side of the diamond, Mowatt should be on the left where he was excellent when Struber first came in, with Woodrow as the 10 & Dougall in front of the back 4.

Results went downhill when Ritzmaier got a run of games, then he got injured & we picked up again & now he’s back starting we’ve lost the last two. Could be a coincidence but my eyes tell me different.

I don't think anyone should be because the diamond is a stupid formation that we don't have the players to play it it means playing pretty much the entire midfield out of position and it's all because the manager is too stubborn to change it or too bad at his job to know how to

I can only think it’s because Struber felt obliged to bring in HIS signing Ritzmaier. It’s cost us big style.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he does the same with Collins & Radlinger.

We won Ritzmaier's first game against Huddersfield, largely due to others. Since then we have lost every league game he has started and in a total of 400 minutes of him being on the pitch have not scored one goal.
