I'm not sure there is such a thing as mild flu, more a bad cold. It's the exhaustion that comes with flu that sets it apart.

So we can over over 13,000 supporters in a Football stadium but mascots can't have a pre game photo with a few others in the centre circle.

I think that essentially the club is being a little selfish (for obvious reasons) and allowing fans to put themselves at risk but the key part is them protecting players

Those complaining about mascots would be the first to complain that we should have done more if all the players caught it and we had to forfeit games for 2 weeks.

There’s no such thing as ‘mild flu’.

I dare say you’ve never had the flu.

I like the idea of the players not shaking hands before kick off. Respect through a handshake should be earned during the match to give at full time if you decide to. It shouldn't be compulsory and it kills the crowd waiting for it to end instead of running straight on the pitch to the fans like it always used to be. It should also mean we are more likely to kick off at 3 pm.

I hope they have bought a lot of paper towels. We don't have many hand dryers and I always see people not washing their hands probably because they don't want to wait for a dryer. We probably should have a couple of stewards patrolling to make sure everyone washes their hands. It's a bit child like to have to do that but if they don't have hygiene they need telling.

I've no problem with them shaking hands but I think it's stupid how it's done.it should be done in the tunnel before they come out as it's weird for them to meet each other stand next to each other and then 10 minutes later introduce themselves to each other. Clubs with proper screens could use it to actually build the atmosphere by showing them in the tunnel in the screen before they come running out

No it's not. It causes severe respiratory distress in a much greater number of people than a cold, or known influenza viruses. Looking around Barnsley Town Centre today at the old, overweight, unfit, smokers - then it should clear a few of them out. Trouble is they will be clogging up hospital beds on respirators.

That's probably a fair assessment of how people feel about having flu, as it really knocks you off your feet if you get it properly. Many others are lucky and don't even realise that it's flu at all.

I've only had man-flu and that was bad enough ;)

I’ve only had it once and it happened on a week when I was leaving my job and moving 150 miles away. My bed and sofa had already been moved so I was on a camping bed, trying to clean the flat before I left was hell. Had to make a 35 miles round trip to work to drop my laptop off, think they knew I wasn’t making it up when they saw me. Awful week.

I had it the day 9/11 happened. Felt really ill at work, they got me a taxi. Got home and collapsed on the bathroom floor. My housemates called paramedics out (I didn't know this) and I think they gave me drugs on the spot. Was in bed 2-3 weeks, lost a tonne of weight. Horrendous.

That's a little daft TBH. Whilst Covid-19 isn't as virulent as SARS, Avian flu or other zoonoses it does have a 1% death rate and has to be taken seriously. Although not as virulent as other pandemics it is more easily transmitted, hence the guidelines.
