There’s very little praising going on! Wasn’t the estimated figure given but the actual figure wasn’t? I don’t think anyone would claim self inflicted problems don’t exist or that one interview fixes everything from the last nine months. It doesn’t. Baby steps though? Possibly. Unless we go another nine months with radio silence
Which is why there's many on the BBS not rushing to praise the CEO with regards to his interview & this upcoming meeting.
I think you’ve mistaken my post as a plea for praise when it was merely pointing out that criticising something fans have asked for doesn’t make complete sense. We’re fundamentally agreeing on almost everything in this conversation
Bugger! I've got up in a grumpy mood and been searching for an argument with someone. I thought I'd found one! I'm going to have a big sulk now!
I do feel as you do but at least we are still playing attacking football on the whole, have players giving their all and a coach who is clearly trying his best. Will feel upset again when we lose Mowatt and Woodrow and Brown though
Yes, but will the right answers be given? Fudge and bull.sh.it, that's what he'll spout. The party line. He'll have been told what to say by his bosses... or else ! Trouble is, there'll be those who come on here afterwards saying how much they love the guy, how frank and open he was, how great the Plan is and we should never have questioned its worth in the first place.

Yeah i think the frustration of seeing how our club run is getting to us all. Attempts to be positive and the potential of some players is clear. We are young and have shown we can play attractive football. But its not on the pitch i think is our source of frustration. Kids will of course be inconsistent and we have tested their readiness, as a team we aren't ready. But the cold facts are that the bad press attracted to the club is growing and fans are seeing real evidence of some poor management i.e. lack of communications, poor management of the reported incident with McLean, bad news around Diaby and reported issues with Maranda, McDonald, Stendel and staff on club transfer business. We dont know anything as we aren't told. Now, I'm not a big fan of demanding information but there has to be some engagement and news otherwise how do we connect, build loyalty and trust. Well the club have decided thats not what they want. Its no surprise that people are therefore cynical that the very same time that season tickets are due to be released, the club decides to start engagement. The CEO speaks of mistakes, but some seem so fundamental that i question the ability to manage a football club. How on earth can we claim that we didn't underestimate the league? How on earth can we buy so many players when managers talk wanting a smaller manageable squad? Any good business looks to engage positively with its customers, to listen, to learn to built loyalty and trust. We WILL see people who are long serving ST holders give up. There will be a shift to casual support for many. It breaks our hearts. But i dont suffer fools gladly, i dont feel connected, i feel let down. I have been through this cycle many times and we make the same mistake time and time and time again. I have many other things to do but will always be a Barnsley fan. I will just reprioritise.
Agree Helen. My biggest frustration this season has been our lack of positive decisions in the final third, but mostly the number of players who constantly pick the wrong option as the penultimate ball; i.e. shoot versus pass.
Just been reading Andy Holts / ASFC social media feeds. Am sure it will be ST renewal time across the Pennines too but his engagement has been inspiring, regular and open pretty much 7 days a week since the season started. And before. There'll be no cynicism should he start banging the ST drum, he's done the hard yards and sales will speak for themselves.
