Like the majority of defeats this season, another one of those displays. Loads of good chances squandered and poor defending. Absolutely needs to be a blip and they need to get back to winning ways next match as were now effectively six points with goal difference from safety again.
There have just been too many of these games and results this season. Ultimately we will probably fall short because of a lack of quality in key areas.
Barnsley this season stretch the definition of "play well". You can pass it about for most of the game as "well" as might be liked, but if you can't either score enough or defend enough then it's neither here nor there.
Not as well as in the previous 3 games - we were off colour today and the good fortune we had enjoyed deserted us and Reading got the lucky goal to get started. Nothing lucky about their second though We had more chances than they did and a couple of really good ones but fluffed them or the keeper did well.
We played just as we have been doing recently. According to the BBC stats we had 62% of the possession. Away from home that is amazing. What we didn't have (as has happened recently) was either the abilty to finish, or the good luck to have goals given to us. Without them being given the first goal, we should have got something out of that game.
The Championship has been such for many years now that good teams go down. Such is the strength. I just can't see there being three teams worse than us this season.
