Not sure he did toy with him fury put him on the back foot from the 1st bell not much show boating from him like he has in the past. But it didnt look good at all blood coming from his ear was glad it was stopped tbh we all saw what happened to gerald mcclellan all them years ago dont want to see that again.
Reading earlier it was a small cut inside the flap of his ear and it looked worse than it was. Wilder is blaming his defeat on the weight of the costume he wore before the fight , claiming that it was so heavy, his legs had " gone" when he finally reached the ring. He maintains that Tyson didn't hurt him. Deontay Wilder: American blames ring-walk costume for Tyson Fury defeat https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/51623455
An athlete that has been in training for months can walk (im guessing no more than 200metres) carrying 18kg without even breaking sweat! I find that excuse embarrassing! If he'd done the first 5 rounds wearing it then i think he'd have a valid point.
It's the worst excuse I've ever heard from any boxer ever. The hype machine for the rematch has already started.
If they have a rematch I hope Fury does the ring walk in a full suit of medieval plate armour and then smashes him around the ring again.
I'm not defending him at all because he's rolled out four or five ridiculous excuses already and he's an embarrassment - I actually think the one about why his trainer ended up throwing in the towel is worse than the suit of armour one. However, he's saying he had the suit on for 15-20 minutes in the locker room before walking to the ring and that the ring walk had delays and issues of it's own. Pathetic, but more than just the 200m.
Simple answer to that through Loko is don’t fcukking wear it. It’s not WWE. Surely he tried it on beforehand, surely if he thought it was even slightly too heavy they’d have canned it. He’s showing himself up at the moment, in terms of performance and his excuse laden nonsense now.
Can you imagine how the fire fighters, lads in the military etc of America feel about this heavy costume he had on? These lads cant have a day off at work because their uniform is too heavy. It really is embarrassing, making himself look a right tit.
I agree with you he definitely went for the money but he can’t take the money fight then moan he hasn’t had a shot. His trainer did the right thing for me too. If he still had his legs then he’s dangerous for the full 12 rounds & always has a chance to stop someone but he didn’t seem to have any balance
It's amazing how you can allow yourself to be influenced about someone you previously didn't know too much about. That is what happened to me regarding Tyson Fury. I knew of course he was a boxer and in the past, that he had expressed certain views that the media and his fiercest critics found distasteful to the point I had also decided that I didn't really like him. I have to admit that through watching the three part fly on the wall documentary " Tyson Fury- The Gypsy King", I have totally altered my opinion. It's patently obvious that he's a devoted Christian and family man, who values his wife and has a genuine love of England and Morecambe in particular. He suffers from depression and is bi-polar, so it was impressive to hear him offering others advice on mental well being to a young lad that he met on a family day out. His demolition of Wilder was a fantastic achievement and with his new trainer now guiding him, there's nothing to suggest that he cant remain undefeated for the foreseeable future. Having watched the recent fight through again, Wilder would probably need to think twice before offering to fight Tyson again. For my money, there would only be one outcome re- the Gypsy King would prevail.
I only watched it last night and mirror your post totally. Judging by the clips of the fight I can't understand why another fight should take place. (On safety grounds alone). Wilder got a right hiding and was covered in blood towards the end. He took more punishment than he should have in my opinion. Also someone metioned earlier in this thread about Wilder only having one punch. That's totally correct. That haymaker right hand over the top is all he's got. How he'd remained unbeaten for so long baffles me.
