Summed up perfectly. Wilder ducked Klitchko wen AJ took the fight. wouldn't fight White despite his no1 contender ranking and ignored Pulev and anyone else yve heard of that may put up a fight..only took Tyson on 1st time because he was out if shape and on a comeback trail.still lost as we all kno .sadly the ref judges dint bt Fury's certainly put that right....

Fury beat a one trick pony who relies on his KO punch. Wilder is your typical American fighter of a bloated record of nobodies to make his unbeaten streak look better than it is. If he takes the rematch it will only be for the money because he will simply lose again.

I just came into it as rd 7 started and thought the stoppage was premature....then I went back to rd1 and watched it through...fair play to his corner, I can't remember seeing the towel thrown in a heavyweight title fight, but it was the right thing to do.
    Just hope the lad's ok.

Tyson Fury is the real deal, he can box, move and hit big, that body shot to floor Wilder was immense, Wilder looked like a bum, he isn't, but was made to look like one, Fury is the answer to the heavyweight division a true entertainer both in the ring and as a personality

He came to the ring to the Patsy Cline classic Crazy (for what he did there should be a campaign to get it to number 1 in the charts).......

He had 16,000 loudly singing along with him to American Pie........

He knew what he was going to do seven years ago........

He's a proper showman and brilliant entertainment for the sport.

Watched it. Not a big boxing fan or expert. But looking at it I'd have never thought Wilder was who he actually is. Don't really know or can explain what Cury has but it obviously works. At least he can afford some singing lessons now after his 31 million purse.

He’s already said it will have to be 50/50 and even more so as last night was the highest grossing heavyweight fight of all time (at the gate) beating the Lewis/Holyfield rematch by a few hundred thousand dollars.

ESPN and DAZN isn’t an issue as they’ve worked together recently and Hearn/Arum have a better relationship than anyone has with the PBC team. Sky/BT is easily figured out too.

If it does come off this Summer, the biggest challenge will be where it takes place. Vegas is where it needs to be for global appeal, Saudi Arabia for the money, but England for the fans. Both Fury and AJ need to accept making less money to fight in England.

Just for balance though can I just add that being a great boxer doesn’t excuse the awful stuff that Fury believes and has openly spoken about.

    A great boxer but a **** bloke.

Do you not think he’s not tried to make up for some of those comments over the last four years, through his words and his actions?

Can't see it being in the UK at all. I hope it does come off even if Wildwr takes the 3rd fight could still do it in the Winter if they both come through.

This is an overly critical take. Having power is one thing, but being able to land it so conclusively and regularly is a skill in itself. Yes he is a one punch wonder, but that one punch wonder nearly made last night null and void in the first fight. Only two seconds away from having Fury on his record as a KO.

Olympic Bronze Medal winner as well. Cherry picked or not, ten defences or so of the green belt doesn’t represent a fraud.

tbf i used to be in the same camp. despised what he stood for. but i genuinely believe he's seen the error of his ways, having been to the very bottom of the barrel and back. i haven't seen any of that from him since his return. he might still believe it privately like, but outwardly he seems like he's genuinely changed. or at least genuinely wants to. his god bothering is a loada b0llocks like

I disagree. I’m not saying that right hand isn’t special but his general ring craft is poor at best. Absolutely awful defensively and not exactly in possession of a jab of note.

He mistakingly took the Fury fight because he thought he was finished and undercooked. Fury made him look poor in both fights.

AJ would smash Wilder and I’d even go as far as saying a focussed Ruiz would as well, and Parker.

    No.

Having 3 kids (including 2 daughters) who I’m trying to bring up as independent girls who can make their own way in life, I found his remarks years ago appalling about a woman’s place is in the kitchen or on her back and the fact that he’d hang his sister if she was promiscuous.

In addition to then claiming that all gay people were like paedophiles amongst other things.

Just because he’s battled against addictions and seems to have turned a corner and won a few fights along the way, doesn’t mean that all is forgiven.

My lad has started boxing recently and looks up to Fury, I’ve told him he needs another hero.

Doesn't Wembley only have a certain amount of dates they can put on a year at the most? Could be tight as with Euros, Rugby and concerts it already looks a busy schedule.

But you’re completely disregarding the talent that is in a powerful right hand. Having power doesn’t mean you can simply box your way to a world title, there’s a skill to being able to use it and Wilder has used it in devastating fashion. I know your original post said you’re not taking anything away from Fury, but you kind of are. Wilder looked awful because Fury mauled and pressured him. All other fighters have been too scared to walk forward and put Wilder on the back foot where everyone knows he would be uncomfortable.

Also, Olympic bronze medal and longest reigning heavyweight champ since Klitschko. Harsh to call him a fraud.

I’ve admitted that his right hand is special, but he’s not fought anyone until he came up against Fury. No one of note apart from a 40 year old Ortiz and even that’s debatable that he’s anywhere near elite class.

I thought Fury was amazing which is what I wrote in my initial post.
