To think we let him go! We could have had a very different start to the season

He is absolutely the only player that shouldn’t have left. I was gutted at the time and worse now. The money from Lindsay and the incoming from Moore should have made keeping him worth the gamble and was one of the very few occasions where I’ve not seen the benefit of moving someone in his contractual position on.

How long did he have left on his contract? Think it was only a year I believe?

No one can blame him though, he’s now fighting to get into the premier league rather than fighting relegation plus moving closer to his family while getting a better pay packet, no brainier really, it just frustrates me that we have these players and cannot compete.

Pinnock is the one out of those three who had the potential to generate the highest future sell-on. There's no way these owners with this business plan would forfeit that opportunity.

The problem with Pinnock is that he's not that young, 27 now I think. It's unlikely one of the Prem clubs will shell out a big fee for someone of that age. Unless it's one of the clubs who get promoted to the Prem this season or one that gets relegated into the Championship.

It's took him a while to settle in and they were patient with him, even taking him out of the team. He's now formed a good relationship with Jannsen, who Leeds sold for the money not football reasons. I think Mark Cooper, his manager at Forest Green ,said we got him cheap and he would be a Premier league player soon. I admire him for not giving up, working full time whilst playing, plus he's one of the best defenders I have seen at the club in recent years.

Letting him leave this summer for nothing would have been better value than any fee we got for him.

A real Rolls Royce of a centre back and in my quarter of a century or so of watching Barnsley, one of my favourite centre halves ever. I’ve not seen many better, and none whatsoever who were calmer.

I hope he gets a whopper of a contract at the highest level, I really do.

Not cannot, Mr Bossman. WILL NOT! That's what makes it worse. No investment. No entrepreneurship. Just a 'project' for the rich boys (and Grace, obviously!)

Did I read somewhere that he was made a good offer to stay and turned it down.?
If he did, it's a bit like the Andy Yiadom saga. If a player and his agent decide
to move on there's very little a Club can do. Agree with other comments though,
we should have tried to hold on to him at all costs.

We should have promised him that he could go in January then, with points on the board and new defenders who were eased into the team. The fans would still have flipped out, but at least we'd have had a fighting chance of staying in the division.

Selling Pinnock at the same time as losing Lindsay and Davies relegated us before a ball was even kicked, and his loss is the one that the club could have prevented.

I'm really sorry for saying this yet again, but the club decided to cash in. Neither the player nor the agent can overcome contractual and player registration issues if the club decides it's not the right time to sell. I keep saying this because the same baloney was trotted out regarding Moore, and will no doubt be used again the coming months/years. I'd have much more respect for those running the club if they simply told it as it is.

I genuinely thought he was the player we’d receive our record fee for. But I guess these owners know better. Maybe we’ll sell Anderson for the record.

Sure it was him who was offered the ‘highest ever’ and he turned it down and Lindsey just refused to talk.

I've no doubt he wanted a move, but if we'd asked him to wait 6 months he'd have carried on giving his all. I dont begrudge him going , just he didnt have to go then.Right from the start he's looked happy at Brentford, hes a Londoner after all. Hope he gets to play in the Premiership with them.

Agree, I think he would also have been committed.

Nobody is blaming him. They're blaming our greedy owners who chose to sell him a year before they had to

Was a pleasure to watch last season, could tell he was miles too good for league one quite rightly named player of the season and in the league one team of the season. We shouldn't have sold simple as that.
