As I was walking away from Oakwell this dad was saying to his kids I don't think I care enough to renew next season and the kids weren't begging him to. Having said that someone who's first game was Wednesday enjoyed it and said they might fetch a season ticket. I'll be going, I don't like what the owners are doing but unless there is an organised protest there will be no change and I think we're a way off that.
Brilliant assessment of the situation, many of the supporters sitting around me say the same. I said in a post just after the Wendys and Brum games that even though things are this poor we'll all be back next season cos were supporters and we've been here before these clowns and we'll be here when they finally s*d off....
"I woke up today, I feel good, and I said 'the sun is shining, it's a fantastic day and it will continue like that'. And at the end of the day I feel lucky that it happened like that." Now there's the attitude!
I woke up this morning and it was raining. However, since I haven't had a bet today it didn't bother me. It is now sunny outside and it hasn't changed my outlook on the day one bit.
And to think that the happy chappy who made that utterance got us closer to survival than Gerhard will!
I think we'll fall agonisingly short because now the cause has been lost they'll string a few wins together like they did in December.
The cynic in me says that but it's rare a team gets massively cut adrift unless they're an absolute shower. This team are bad but not in the League of the Rotherham's and Stockport's who have been relegated so cheaply in the past.
We're 10 points from safety and it's barely the middle of February. I can't see where the next win is coming from, not unless Struber ditches the diamond. Even getting past 30 points looks a tall order as things stand, never mind surviving. We need a radical shake up, some gumption, and a miracle. Even Wednesday getting a massive points deduction probably wouldn't be enough. It's not like me to be pessimistic, but the standard this season has been woeful, all through the club, from top to bottom. I'm not at all convinced that we'll do much in L1 next season, not with current tactics.
