This Struber seems a decent bloke, talks fairly well and has had a decent career in the game in Austria. But what sort of decent manager only has ONE formation that they insist on playing? Surely every manager in and down the land has multiple formations that they play in case plan A isn't working. We must be the only team in English football that doesn't use different formations based on opponents, is that not a basic part of football management? I myself have never managed a team in my life but surely with all the sports science and analysts we have in the game now, every team should be watching the opponents and tweaking tactics in order to beat the opposition.

Regardless of who we are playing we set up in this woeful diamond thing, with players shoehorned into it. Half the side is playing out of position and it is showing on the pitch as we get beat pretty much every week. Sounds like we have played 2 average sides at home in the last few days and have come away with 1 point.........

Relegation is 100% nailed on for me and if we stick with this current player model and crop of sh!te we will be mid table at best next year.

Formation doesnt work (imho)with these players. He did try Styles and Simoes but i think the latter its too early for him and an impact sub for now, is probably best.
As for the system, the best asset we have is woody and Mowatt. We need to try accommodate them, so maybe 5 3 2. I really dont think much will improve but worth a try.

it is so obvious this formation doesn't work with the players we have. He just needs to try any other formation just to mix it up. 532, 442, 4231 would all suit us better IMO but he seems adamant on sticking to this diamond.

What I don’t get is when he has the two wide players in the diamond and he plays the one who can’t kick with his left foot on the left, and the one who can’t kick with his right foot on the right. Wtf?

    Amen.

    442

Mowatt and Dougall/Halme in the middle
Brown on one wing (The bloke with a load of assists)
    Thomas/Oduor/Styles on the other.
    Woodrow and Chaplin up front.

Its not difficult. Our best player is Woodrow. He touched the ball in the box once in the second half yesterday. Get the wide men playing as wingers and firing crosses in for Cauley to finish.

Agree , we was 1-0 down and Woodrow was in left midfield , bit like when we had mcburnie other year and played him on wing . Not much between the teams again last night , bit of class from hogan and another defensive mistake from Andersen and co

442, 4231, even a 433 would suit us more than this tripe diamond. He needs to switch it up.
