Running it like a business so strict to the policy of young players another shambles of a window with foreign players who have never played in England brought in 10million pounds worth of players sold in the summer and were has all the money gone? Owners never to be seen or heard. Owners wont even tell the fans how many season tickets we sold dont trust them at all. ***** foreign signings. We could have played until easter tonight and wouldnt have scored, one of the best seasons last season followed by one of the worst this and all self inflicted. Fuming we will struggle next season.
The season has been abysmal. However, most of those players would’ve left regardless of who the owners are. We have no idea what clauses were in those players contracts, but it’s clearly obvious, and has been for a number of years, that once one of our players receives interest from a bigger club (or at least a club that’s willing to pay them more) they’re going to be gone. There’s no affinity to the club from the players. I actually think the owners weren’t expecting an instant promotion, they probably knew those players were off regardless and planned recruitment against a season in League One to build and consolidate the new team. TBH I would’ve preferred another season in League One than the drivel we’ve had to put up with.
The replacements for those players have been abysmal Anderson for pinnock? Schmidt for moore? And wheres the rest of the money gone...
Players wanting to leave is obviously always going to be an issue but where we’re at now is a joke, players should be told if a premier league club comes in fine we won’t stand in way free to go but selling all our best players to championship clubs for years now is fuckin embarrassing
OMG. It's NOT about affinity to the club. It's about money FFS. The owners decided to cash in on contracted players. End of story.
Other than Pinnock it should have been relatively easy to sign players who were actually better than the ones that left. Instead we took punts in loads of players who are nowhere near good enough.
Just after they scored, I looked at the directors' box. The Birmingham section was full. In our section there were 4 people. 4. Four. I didn't recognise any of them. Where are our owners? Why don't we hear from them?
I’m not sticking up for the owners. But, everyone seems to think we should be able to attract certain players and then kicks off when we don’t. How many times does it have to happen before people aren’t shocked anymore? Given how poor our annual profits are I’ve no idea whether money is being used to not only buy players, but also pay wages ensuring the club is self-sufficient. The owners haven’t delivered at any level. Yet attempting to offer a more balanced opinion I’m suddenly sticking up for them? Where’s the increased marketing revenue? Where’s the improved match day experience? Perhaps if they’d delivered in those areas there’d be more money to invest in the squad.
Agreed I can't believe the Cryne family sold to Conman and the rest of the charlatans. They have set OUR club back years. Ownership has never been so bad.
No idea, but the communication from this board, and its puppet CEO is insulting. I'm done. I may attend games if I have nothing better to do, this season, but not a cat in hell's chance of a Season Ticket until something changes.
They've invested plenty in the squad, just utterly incompetently. We have signed 16 players since the start of the summer with only Chaplin and Oduor looking up to the job. Quality over quantity would surely be preferable.
In my case it’s not about attracting certain players, it’s about keeping the good ones. And not trotting out ridiculously disingenuous reasons as to why they were cashed in on. And If they needed the money for wages why chuck loads away on a multitude of ‘punts’?
