    Unbelievable, almost happened to me in 1989 when I was keeper. Mine went just over my own bar from a dead ball kick

    That actually happened to me in a game, but it was a goal kick, a dead ball situation. The ball went out of the area (in those days it had to), then blew back over my head and into the goal. Fortunately it was a corner, not a goal, as it was directly from a goal kick and that's not allowed. The guy taking the corner forgot to allow for the wind, and the ball landed about 50 yards behind the goal. So then it was another goal kick, which I took against the wind...………….

    It wasn't long before the ref abandoned the game.
