If we kick it long from a goal kick it always comes straight back. Every time.

Except it doesn't, does it. In fact, I don't think it ever came straight back. The ball stayed in the opponents half, often in our possession in an attacking position. Brown won every one didn't he? So Wednesday doubled up on him, packed that area of the pitch (to no avail) which meant we could mix it up - Collins catching Wednesday off guard a couple of times with accurate passes out to our left.

Correct. We won the majority of the long balls when the kicks were accurate. I'd say we lost far more when Andersen and even odour pumped it long than when Collins did

    Exactly.

Brown won loads of headers. And in fact, the lads put a shift in all the time meaning even if we do lose it in their half we have a decent chance of winning it back - which happened loads.

And even if it did come straight back, I'd rather that than us dicking about in our half considering the capabilities of those in the side. Make it simple.

Yes but it’s not as entertaining as Collins passing it to Anderson who may pass it back to Collins or after been closed down nearly loses it and boots it up the pitch anyway or tries doing a Barcelona type pass which goes straight to their man.

Exactly. Brown wins more than he loses against opposition full backs. And even if he doesn't, then we can win the ball back higher up the pitch.

Playing out from the back is idiotic, and I'm glad Struber has finally given it up as a bad job.

    For now.

Struber didn't give it up. Wednesday forced Collins to stop doing it by marking Andersen.

Probably a mistake on their part. They should have just left him free and reaped the rewards when he ****** it up.

Brown was absolutely superb yesterday winning flick ons and headers - I'm not sure how tall he is but he's got a heck of a leap on him.

I think the long ball tactic to brown, worked well yesterday against a flat and leggy owls team. It cetainly suited our players more, than having them bring it out from the back.

Simples do we put pressure on their defence or give it our own not too confident defence to put pressure on ourselves.

Its certainly an head scratcher or is it. Pfff.

Must say, I was extremely impressed with Brown's heading yesterday. I was in the camp of "We don't have the players to launch it up" but brown really surprised me yesterday.
