We are all familiar with the famous design of the FA Cup. That particular shape was first introduced in 1911, so it looks like by winning in 1912, we were the second team to be presented with it. That particular Cup was replaced by a new one in 1992 and the one that is played for now was first introduced in 2014. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zkn247h
I think the Derbyshire border used to be at Meersbrook, which is about 1½ miles south of Bramall Lane.
A map of the area from 1905 ish and there are no county boundaries marked.....some boundaries nearby but not sure whether county or urban as it goes to an older map and I don't know the map keys from those eras as not quite that old
The Derbyshire/Yorkshire boundary has changed a few times but I don't think it ever came as far north as Bramall Lane. Otherwise Yorkshire CCC would have been playing home matches in Derbyshire as the cricket pitch was on the south side of the football pitch, where the car park is now on Cherry Street. The furthest north it came was, I think, Heeley Bridge where the Meers Brook flows into the Sheaf. Derbyshire used to play at Abbeydale but that was subsumed into Yorkshire too and later Yorkshire played home matches there.

I think places like Hemsworth, Hoyland, Wombwell, Royston, Worsbrough Bridge, Dodworth etc all came under the West Riding
Yes mate, so did Barnsley ,Donny , Rotherham and Sheffield, W.R.C.C. but split up after 1974 of which all became South Yorkshire.
I lived around 9 miles east of Donny in a village called Dunsville and remember that we were classed as being in the West Riding. Everything at our Junior School was branded W.R.C.C. which was the supply arm of the County Council's Education Department. As a result of the Redcliffe - Maud report as you say TT, in 1974,we were "rebranded " South Yorkshire County Council.
Barnsley, Rotherham, Donny Sheffield had their own councils but the small towns were governed by west riding county council.
I have however seen a document with Hemsworth, Barnsley on it pre 1974. The thing is I keep getting grief from ar lass shi calls mi Wakey boy coz I was born in Hemsworth which I thought was part of Barnsley pre 1974 but I can't prove it, could be wrong but I would like to have proof it was.
Prior to 1974, there were multiple Councils within what are now the Metropolitan Borough Councils. On re-organisation (1974), I was appointed Supplies Manager for the Works Department of Doncaster MBC and with my team , had the job of incorporating all the assets of Doncaster Borough Council, Doncaster Rural District Council, Adwick Rural DC, Bentley Rural DC, Conisbrough Rural DC, Mexborough Rural DC and Thorne Rural DC under the umbrella of the new Metropolitan Borough. The new Authority dealt with Council Housing Repairs and Maintenance, Housing, Social Services, Education, Finance and later IT, Parks and Cemeteries, whilst the Highway Maintenance and Street Lighting function was for some time, the remit of South Yorkshire County Council which until it was disbanded, had offices near the bus station in Barnsley. They supplied the various local councils with kerbs, flags, channels, edging, road marking materials, street lighting columns, street lighting lamps, photo electronic control units, limestone, tarmac etc etc. Effectively, re-organisation was seen as a way of removing the duplication of effort and providing a unified service for local citizens from cradle to grave.
