Why is this forum seemingly all about point scoring. No room for debate at all half the time. Actually think you are a decent poster usually so don't understand the need to call people out when we've had a bad result.
Oddly enough, I’ve noticed recently more and more people seem to be resorting to trying to insult or belittle people on here instead of offering opinions.
This whole self-sustainability is just another way of them saying "we are putting nothing in, if it pays off, happy days, if it goes tits up (which it is doing) who cares? we have lost nothing". That is how we are run. We have higher average attendances than Preston, Brentford, Luton, Hull and Wigan yet we cannot or will not fund the club properly. If they want us to be a stable championship club (which I don't think they do) they need to first spend some money to make us stable, not just hope it happens.
It's the modern way. Brexit-itus. Take a position, stick with it no matter what, no grey areas, no room for discussion.
Got a question for you Daletykes. On another thread you mentioned about chatting to Charlton fans and them feeling confident moving forward etc. Did they give you an inkling on how a team with a record of 1 in 18 have an apparent better morale than us? Genuine question, lot we could, learn from that.
The only things i can take from this match is the diamond doesnt work anymore, the defence is still ****, and were still crying out for a striker.
I've noticed that too. Increasingly aggressive/belittling. I think its down to frustration...'kicking the cat' syndrome. As for me I've not been posting lately as according to some my views mean I'm not a proper fan.
The hatred they felt for their former owners made our relationship with Conway look like Harry and Megan. Like a huge weight being lifted from the Club when they left.. We’ll feel something similar one day. They adore Bowyer And his back room team and they are now on long contracts. They just used the window to sign talented players who they think will keep them up. I think they are right.
I spoke to one at length before the game. He put their new found euphoria down to their new owners and the new contract for the manager. They've only been there a few weeks, so not had time to change things yet. Still plenty of time for it to go wrong though.
Certainly not out to point score. I posted this long before the game ended and we could have won it but i'd still feel exactly the same about it. Just find it strange that a number of posters will not criticise the board and will actively seek out others who do criticise the board. I was pleased they deviated from the plan to seek experience, so I'm not 100% anti- Conway et al...
I was livid before the game if you look at my posts. We could have won and it would have made zero difference. I'm not going to repeat what I've said on previous threads but feel free to have a look.
It's fine mate, we played well for 45 minutes when already 2 down so any criticism of any aspect of the club is completely unfounded. Chien and co. want the best for us and absolutely don't want to make money without any consideration for the fanbase. Absolutely not. No sir.
This is pretty much why I posted the thread in the first place. I have given the board credit where it has been due at times, but these past few months have been terrible. It works both ways. When we're not doing what we should with recruitment and on the pitch and you have posters not accepting some negatives and defending them to the hilt it is laughable.
When I first joined I only saw the odd instance, usually between individuals, which I assumed was historical. But it seems to almost become a daily occurrence now.
