You don't go and sign somebody from Austria because unless he's a world class player he'll struggle to adapt. The board have relaxed the recruitment policy yes but they've gone fishing in the wrong pond. The new center back may know what the manager wants problem is delivering it in the Championship week in week out straight away.
The only problem is that pond is very expensive and still not garanteed.Take for example Ivan toney 10 million but would he do it in the championship.Wednesday signed Rhodes 10 million,a massive waste of money so i agree last 2 games have been rubbish but hopefully the club will get it right. But what ever happens the true fans will always be behind BFC.
3 of the lads from Shrewsbury look as good as our players, Whalley,Ebanks-Landell and Aaron Pierre, who we wanted a couple of years ago.
I didn't like the reaction from.a few posters on here yesterday regarding his debut. Too many love a scapegoat.
Who would you suggest? Some poster were suggesting Richard Stearman, who ended up at Huddersfield. He’s probably on double the wage of our top earner. If you want Championship experience, you pay Championship wages, which we’ll struggle with. If not, you end up with players well past their sell by dates, see Luton.
Just got to accept the reality of the ridiculous Championship finances, which we can't compete with and suck it up. They're trying to compete whilst living within their means. Very laudable but extremely difficult.
Mentioned same guy on here a few times and im sure he is still available. Go for Hefele from Forest. Surely affordable and just what we need.
Manager puts him in the team, manager gives the fans right to give feedback on his performance. I’m not a qualified coach but even I know I wouldn’t chuck a guy into the first team of a club after joining late in the week I don’t imagine he would have even been familiar with everyone’s names at that point.
Maybe the timing was good, one training session and then an FA cup game before a week of training and a league game next weekend. I’m going to reserve judgement until after the next game at least.
But the majority of clubs in the championship are shelling out money they can’t afford, most clubs are effectively bust. With the proper enforcement of ffp we would be on a very level playing field as it would drive costs to a more realistic, sustainable and fair level. As it is, you either buy from a cheaper shop or max every loan and credit card you can get. It depends how you want to live I suppose.
Worked for Boyce and Sibbick at Hearts though! Me being the more cautious type would have had him in at Charlton, after he'd got used to his new club and teammates and maybe subbed him on agsinst Portsmouth.
It looks as though we’ve little option, financially we’re not able to attract established championship players so we’re fecked because unless we’re prepared to get ourselves in a whole world of debt we can’t meet the wages. Shame but true, we’ll be a yo yo club at best unless there’s a financial reckoning in the championship and the playing field becomes level. Not going to happen though is it.
