One lad saying we're going to get relegated to League 2, another saying that Jacob Brown should be taken out the back and shot, another saying Sollbauer is the worst human being (never mind defender) that he's ever seen, another saying he wants to take Strubes on his honeymoon (bit odd), one lad said Odour should be flayed, and Collins (oh sweet Bradley!) — everyone has been clamouring for you to start — should be beheaded by the old Turkey Circle in tarn. ONE LAD EVEN WANTS US TO SIGN GARY MADINE! Enjoy slaggin' em off, Lads. Only a cup game. Might win next un and then ya can go back to sucking some of 'em off. Glad I didn't bother going, mind.
Whilst you’re probably right about the knee jerk reactions, I’m guilty of it and probably most football fans up and down the country. Comments like “it’s only a cup game” do my head in. We should be performing a lot better than today’s showing.
I'm assuming you didn't see it. It's not being a prophet of doom. It's facing reality. As others have said, it's not the players fault that they are ill-equipped for the Championship. What's more concerning is being comprehensively beaten by a third division team.
They were very bad. I did watch it. Sometimes footballers are bad. I don't think it's necessarily representative of the team's potential ability. I don't like writing teams off because they were schmidt on any given day. However, I was more commenting on the fickle nature of some posters and the fetishistic joy they derive from slagging the team off. The feast tonight.
Not sure why you ask this, but no. This board quickly sweeps away the sort of stuff that you're quoting about. So if someone posts that e.g. Radlinger needs to be shot, then (hopefully) it will be deleted. They are not merchants of doom. They are idiots to be ignored.
From a Pompey fan on Twitter.. Big big fan of @JohnMarquis09 smirking at the Fratton End and mouthing 'they're ****.'
Hows the view from up on your high horse pal? You seem to only pop up to have a go at people who call the team out for playing horrifically - the last 2 games have been utterly pathetic performances and results which absolutely deserve to be criticised. No-one enjoys seeing their team be embarrassed by the opposition, you can hardly blame people for being angry at a 4-2 loss to a team in the division below.
“Might win next un and then ya can go back to sucking some of 'em off.” unlikely, we’ve played 32 games in all competitions this season and won 6, so I’m not holding my breath. gone out in 2 cup competitions to teams in lower leagues. I’m not sure I expect people to be singing the teams praises this season so far.
If that’s what you’ve gleaned from reading the message board then can I suggest some basic comprehension lessons.
Agree MK. It's the way we lost. No fight, no pride and if we can't improve on our defending, no chance of staying in the Championship sadly.
In the olden days, you'd go home and kick the dog, then go out Saturday night and get smashed, and spend most of Sunday feeling nauseous. Nowadays, you can let off steam right here and then go way and enjoy the rest of the weekend. It's a wonderful thing, the internet.
