We need a plan B when diamond formation not working and unfortunately we stuck rigidly to it even when it was obvious Preston had sussed us out. Again and again our defence crumbled when pressurised and we gave away two goals because of schoolboy errors. UnfortunatEly we have not yet got the personnel to do anything about it as we have no target man to hold the ball up and defenders who get themselves in knots including Radlinger.Ah well let's see what the next week brings. Like many ...very disappointed tonight.
When Woodrow is playing at the top of a diamond, the plan B should be fairly simple case of switching to a 4-5-1, with Chaplin on the left and Brown on the right, so the full backs can get more support.
Wouldn't class Woodrow as a target man though. He played better when he fed off Moore. IMHO. But I see where you are coming from.
Another few defeats, there will be a press conference when Struber recites Kipling then announces that "Barnsley will play 4, 4, f******* 2"
