I’ve just had an email from Northern Rail informing me that they are having their 10p flash sale again and tickets go on sale tomorrow. I posted last time they did this and managed to go to York, Blackpool and Meadowhall for 20p return tickets. You have to book an exact train time, no open tickets. Hopefully this helps someone get cheap tickets to go cheer on the Reds (or even for a trip out somewhere). The email text is below: We're giving you an exclusive heads up, that our 10p Flash Sale returns tomorrow. That means you can get your hands on Advance train tickets for just 10p! There are over 180,000 available for travel between 13 Jan-14 Feb and 24-29 Feb, so be quick because once they’re gone, they’re gone. That's not all either, as kids travel half price, your little ones can go for an even smaller price of just 5p! So, be sure to visit our app or website tomorrow (Tuesday 7th January 2020) for your chance to grab a bargain.
Thank you for this. Might save my eldest a few quid traveling too and from York. On the downside, the other half will now be booking trips here there and everywhere, just because he can!
On another note it looks like Northern are finally are going to be stripped of the franchise. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.in...s-cancellations-train-fares-a9267261.html?amp
Problem is if they are for a set time only what happens if the train is cancelled will you be able to use the tickets on the next available service
I would say yes as you have paid for a valid ticket. When we went to Blackpool, every train apart from the 10p ones on the way back were cancelled.
I'm hoping it starts at 9am so i can look for trains to Reading for our game on the 29th February. Only other option would be Fulham on the 1st but that'll be touch and go as it is.
They just tweeted to someone saying it should go live shortly and sorry for the wait. You couldn’t make it up!
