I joined Unison last month and they still haven't taken payment. I set the direct debit up for the 28th but nothing yet has been taken.

Has anyone else had something similar happen to them?

Unison were notoriously slow on the admin side when I was a member (I retired a few years ago). There seemed to be a constant communications gap between the local, regional and national offices. The number of members who, having moved homes, failed to receive ballot papers despite trying several times to get their address amended, was staggering.

I'd complain to my union if I were you.

I contacted them at lunch and the first payment isn't due until the 31st January. Nice of them to tell me in my welcome letter.
