I'm fine with anything really logical, so if you do a, b and c with no room for opinion coming into it then it's fine. I don't like when it's anything creative where you have to make a judgement call.
I do it to save money, not as a charity service. It'd be mechanic's price plus 10% as it's you You know, 'mate's rates'.
Not to mention the instruction I once got from my late 'mechanical engineer' brother in law..... ......".... and don't forget to disconnect the gromit spewl from the discomnockerator valve!!!".
I swap the wheels on my car twice a year as it is legal requirement (and sensible given the fact we are near the mountains) to fit winter tyres Nov to April. I go whole hog and fit Winter/Snow tyres. However, I DON'T (couldn't anyway) like constantly fitting and removing tubeless tyres and re-balancing wheels from the rim as the seal ultimately becomes suspect so I initially bought the winter set complete with winter wheels and change the lot with the added advantage they are easier to clean being far less ornate than the standard factory fitted alloys with summer tyres. I found a good heavy duty trolley jack makes life easier. Axle stands are unnecessary as I don't go under the car but some very substantial blocks of wood are just as secure and also stop any movement of the car when jacked up especially as I am on a slight slope and gravel. Not a lot I could do myself under the car anyway as I have a rough road kit which would mean removing a very large protective plate to get to anything underneath as it guards the sump, transmission and brake pipes. It takes me a couple of hours to swap clean and store but saves me the twice yearly cost of taking it to a garage to do it.
