I'm already a massive fan of this guy and his management approach. Clarity and focus. strong leadership instilling confidence and belief in this group. a positive personality. also looks like he's gonna tell it how it is. just read his post match comments. speaks like a guy who has belief. that is transferring to the players. great stuff gerhard!! ps Slaven Bilic yet another champ manager praising us as a good team. Come on!
It’s worth remembering - the quality of the coach / manager is a reflection on the quality of the directors that appointed him. All those that were berating the directors not that long ago - should now be thinking how stupid they were.
It's been 6 games (or whatever)...I think reserving judgement for a bit longer would be a good idea. I have been impressed with recent results and performances though and hope they continue.
Ironic that you should say that because people were very quick to judge that these players were ***** and the board were cnuts
I think he'll turn into a cracking player, when the whole team settles down. So easy to forget how young he is and moving to a new country.
People are so knee jerk. The last 6 games are a big improvement and I'm cautiously hopeful it will continue in that vein. However it doesn't expunge what led to the most horrific first 18 games of a season that I can ever remember. The playing resources put at our disposal were nowhere near job ready for the task in hand.
comment from aapo on GS: " He has made us more solid. we know what we are expected to do". some might say thats the usual trite comment from a footballer. However I think we see evidence of that with every game under this guy.
They were not being stupid in their berating the Directors for their reprehensible conduct in their arrogant and supercilious manner of dismissing Stendal or their patronising attitude to the supporters.
As long as he lays off the Sunny Delight he has the potential to be decent. Best game in a Barnsley shirt yesterday. but personally he frightens me to death and has a lot more to learn than the others in the back four. The turnaround of Madds Anderson the last five games has been seriously impressive, but what I love the most about all the defence (even though we're still liable for conceding and clean sheets look way off) is that they are slowly learning when to play and when to just put their foot through the ball.
Your first sentence is correct. Your second is just further indication of you being a WUM. Everyone who expressed concerns was a fan of the club that could see we started the season totally unprepared, with a squad that was not ready. They are not stupid, far from it. We are all behind Herr Struber, as far as I can see & we are now awaiting the board giving him the support that was not there for the previous incumbent.
Yes, totally. I'm not opposed to the plan or the spreadsheet, but any business, individual, or whatever that only relies on a dogmatic, blinkered approach ends up in trouble. I'm hoping that lessons have been learned, that there is a model to largely pursue said approach, but with some mentors on the field. That is all most of us have been asking for from day one. I'm hoping Struber gets that help. It wasn't there for DS. He was hung out to dry. I'm happy with our current manager. He seems to be an excellent appointment & I credit the board for the wise choice. A good January & we could stay up. That is all we need to do this season.
