If anything it's hard for sides like Leicester who they are playing today. As they don't have the quality through the squad as the likes of Liverpool and Man City.
To be fair in the 70s Liverpool only played a maximum 6 games in December, They're due to play 9 this year. Plus he's come from a league that has a winter break (which is a good idea in my opinion). This break also happens in Spain (but not quite as long) Frane and Italy. So why are we the only major league not to have a winter break? It'd be good for the players, the staff and the pitches.
When they get chance of a break they only piss off abroad to make money though. Personally I enjoy the extra excitement of quick fire games, yes some of the big sides have bigger squads but can the primary donnas hack it that’s the question.
The money they earn they are lucky they don't have to work emergency service type shifts. If he doesn't like it he should quit because this is how English football has been for long before he arrived to moan from his table of high privilege.
All i can say is this. They're in an entertainment industry. It's what is quoted every time they want to justify their salaries. The British public love the winter schedule especially round Christmas. How many people have said on here this week that they're looking forward to a Boxing Day game. If Klopp etc don't like it...go manage or play somewhere else. Or be a builder or a bus driver instead.

Exactly. I think they even continued into the 50s/early 60s didn't they? Some of the games weren't even local derbies and you used to get some weird results. Like we'd beat Brentford 4-0 at home or something on Xmas day ,then lose to them 5-0 the next day at Griffin Park. They must have driven down to Brentford straight after the final whistle at Oakwell, with a crate of ale ont' bus! Simpler times I suppose

Trouble is sky etc aren’t bothered about attendance levels especially lower leagues and the clubs follow them around chasing the money at their fans own detriment . There’s gonna be a time when fans give them up and the money dries up and clubs will fold en masse sky will concentrate on its European or even world super league chairmen will find something else to play with and it’ll be up to the ordinary fan to try and resurrect what was once a thriving spectator sport . a winter break imo would maybe just lose the bit of interest in football I have left from a game I used to love to play and watch in equal measure . The international breaks are just about tolerable and that’s as much foreign interference I’m willing to take .
Tommy Smith also ended up with Alzheimers, quite possibly through heading very heavy leather balls. How much his physical maladies were due to football and how much they were due to bad luck is not completely clear. Would he have fared better if he'd played in the modern era I wonder?
I've seen Barnsley play Good Friday at Grimsby AND at home to Derby on Easter Saturday - 1981/82 season.
We had two consecutive games around Christmas in 93-94 I think. Beat Grimsby 4-1, then I think had Portsmouth away the next day and predictably lost 3-0. Ridiculous fixture planning.
