looking at the news it seems a lot of seats will change hands. I reckon Scotland will throw up a few surprises.
I will be happy to see the end of it no matter what happens. I have changed my usual voting direction this time.
I'm guessing a hung parliament....probably slightly Tory biggest party and then another election next year so we can enjoy it all again
The only surprise in Scotland will be the Tories keeping and possibly winning a few more seats. Ultimately good news for Scotland.
I meant the opposite of that. I meant it would make it more likely that the Scots would vote to leave the UK - a good thing (for them).
Two creditable things about Ms Sturgeon is she is consistent and she appears to be honest. Another thing I like about her is she doesn't shift from the parties policy even when public opinion seems to be against her.
If Scotland leaves the uk, I think the most important thing to sort out is who gets dibs on the recipe for the chicken and sweet corn pies they used to do outside Dundee uni. Other than that, I’m butting out.
No idea what you are on about mate. Never heard of any special chicken and sweet corn pies. Can't even think of where you got them.
I know it’s a case of “in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king” but she’s better then all the other leaders that’s for sure.
Haha. Maybe mate. But latest opinion poll suggested SNP increasing their mps by 11. All will be revealed in a few hours.
I go up to Scotland a lot and and over many years it just feels like a different country to England in a way that Wales does not. And I don’t mean that in terms of the road signs! Most of my Scottish friends look down here and just say ‘what the ****.’ It’s not an anti English thing in the way that so many differences seemed to be when I was growing up in the seventies, it’s more a case of ‘we don’t share your values or ethics anymore’ so we’d like to go our own way. Not with rancour or bitterness, just an acceptance on both sides that as both Countries move through the 21 century, Scotland wants to take a different path to England and they can’t do that if they are part of the UK. I’ve some Scottish friends who are still unionist (if fewer and fewer) and i’ve tried to understand their perspective. What it seems to boil down to is; a shared lifetime under the Union and they know no different. And like a kid still holding on to their security blanket, they just can’t let go. When we wake up tomorrow the English will ensure the UK have made another terrible decision but for Scotland it’s probably just what you need for a final push. Good luck and best wishes.
Was it from an all day bakery in Peddie Street just off Hawkhill? Very near the Uni. They do all sorts of savouries. If so still there.
