If Stendel was talking without permission to another club "Early in the season Daniel Stendel entered into negotiations with a rival Sky Bet Championship club, to take over their managerial post and recruited other members of contracted Barnsley Football Club staff to follow him." 1. That club is guilty of approaching another club's manager? 2. Why aren't we naming and shaming that club? Is the BFC board suggesting that Stendel approached that club, and that negotiations were all one way, cos if not, we should be naming the club he negotiated with. Unless of course they're scared of the repercussions?
Remember this is Barnsley football club who a few weeks ago said "we can't give any information due to legal reasons" but now say "we didn't give any information out of respect" How the hell can you believe a word they say when one of these two things MUST be a lie?
The club that tried to tap up Daniel has probably offered us more compensation for keeping their club quiet.
It seems like two issues here, one Daniel wanted to leave, but secondly he wanted to take stern and tongue with him “this was totally unacceptable as we have worked hard putting this team together” fair enough however in that case how come the moment a new manager comes in Stern and tongue are released?! Why didn’t they not insist that the new manager kept them at the club after the board worked so hard putting this team together and were angry that DS wanted to take them?!
They’re letting us know the reason behind his dismissal. Nowhere does it say he’s completely ‘to blame’.
Perhaps not but if you listen to the interview he makes reference to "antics of our past manager"... that alone is pretty scathing.
I don't think the club are doing themselves any favours regarding future business here, I'm not a fan of this American style suing to make money. Maybe Stendel deserved to lose his job over what he did but I don't like that were suing Hearts. Sack Stendel tell us why and leave it at that. It will bite us in the arse suing Hearts in the long run I fear.
I'm not suggesting that. I'm asking why we're not naming a club that apparently had negotiations with our manager, without our permission?
Listen to the Radio Sheffield interview with Conway and he gives an explanation for this. I'd tell you myself but the truth is I can't quite remember what he said and I don't want to misquote him.
Essentially yes I think that's the case. And that's exactly what I expect them to do. I don't understand how any Barnsley fan could disagree with that.
He didn’t go - and are we assuming it’s Huddersfield? - because his plot to leave the club rudderless became unstuck. Stendel is a @@@@ !!!
We're trying to get compensation from an unknown club, for talking to, but not recruiting our manager? Why aren't we just reporting it to the Governing body? (or is that what we are doing? Sorry I can't listen to the interview until after work)
That's what I was thinking too. Daniel breached his contract but as for the other club it must be a breach of FA rules.
