Fair enough. They went about the communication side of things completely the wrong way but fair enough.
It's the opposite for me mate, i still think they were poor in the way they communicated with the fans but i can understand the decisions they made now and for me that's the chapter closed.
The statement will be true - no reason not to be, and certainly would be legally challenged if not the case. They mention other items as well, but do not divulge - which again is probably best too. So essentially, they’ve kept quiet for legal reasons, but also to protect Stendel’s reputation to an extent. Fair enough. DS should not have been in talks with others or tapping up others either. He took his chance and got caught. Explains clearly why Stern and Tonge have also gone. The King Is Dead...... Long Live The King!
You can’t win in situations like this. They tried to keep it quiet for respect of DS,m nd legal issues, but it backfired on them. I genuinely think they meant to do the right thing, but it didn’t work out.
I have been very, very critical of the owners lack of communication in recent weeks / months and whilst some haven't agreed with me I firmly believe my view to be justified. Whilst it's long overdue I am really pleased that they have communicated something with us although I understand all of the comments about the quality of the statement, and agree with many of them I'm just happy that this communication has happened. I hope that it will continue and develop further.
I'm not entirely convinced they have handled this well but it does make sense. Re previous rumours on here about fighting etc... it would make sense not to publicise that given his ongoing court case. Would play straight into Barton's defence team hands.
For me, they meant well, but it didn’t quite pan-out as they hoped. Sometimes it’s how it goes. From their statement, they tried to sort out quietly and with respect to DS. Which is fair enough. They mention other things too, but having elaborated on - which is the classy thing to do too.
Statement does not cover the context of Stendel's alleged desire to move to another club. And that context is .... having his best players sold by the Board. Almost constructive dismissal in my book. Surprised Daniel did not jump ship in the summer when his defence was torn apart.
Yeah that's fair as well, difficult situation for them to be in and in the end they've told us whats happened. I'm not going to tell others how to feel about this but for me this is enough for me to move on from the subject and more importantly i can start going to away games again. Oh Danny boy....
I suspected as much, but was loathed to say it. If it was a simple falling out about how the club was making signings and they couldnt agree on a direction it would have been said. It was fairly clear something was amiss. If this isn't true (and I've no reason to doubt the board), then I expect Stendel will take them to court as that's the last thing you want on your record. Shame, but there we go.
No need to sacrifice your ale and a night out, just because you’re switching football teams. Just switch from Germany to England. And from Barnsley to Huddersfield (or Boro, or whoever). Drink on and be merry! Prost!
