Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before. But what’s the reason we are now playing home games on a Wednesday instead of the traditional day of Tuesday.

Sky only have capacity to show so many different streams on the red button so they split the games over two days. Why we are Wednesday not Tuesday I don't know

Pure guess, in that we moved to Wednesdays last year due to being in Div 3, and League have tried to leave as much as possible for continuity.

    ???
Most teams have played traditionally on Tuesdays. At home. Far fewer on Wednesdays if I recall. Going on the fact even away, I seem to travel more on the Tuesday. Suspect there's probably more to Super tykes explanation.

Only game I can pick up on the fixtures last year on Wednesday was boxing day. That's not included as a traditional night game.

Don’t know then, I thought I recalled someone asking last year why we had changed days and someone gave that as explanation. Maybe I got days wrong way or maybe I dreamt it!

Only one that possibly correct as our home midweekers revert back to Tuesdays next year ( half season.) Unless someone knows differently.

It's definitely that, I found an article mentioning it (and have now lost that article)

Do we as a club have a choice or do we continue to accept the sky thirty pieces of silver .
    Yes !
    Contwit !
It means I cannot attend or watch it on tv because I have arranged a family get together for a night when
we don't play home games .

You have arranged a family get together on a night when we don't play home games. Well that's ok then, isn't it?

You realise that statistically at any point exactly the same number of teams play away as at home?
    I mean... that’s not tricky.

The reason given is... "Because Barnsley FC have not won a HOME midweek match, always played on Tuesday evenings at Oakwell, for about ten years then the FA/Football League/Sky TV decided that in order to give them a chance to overcome this dreadful statistic they would be given the opportunity to play on a Wednesday evening."
We must thank them for this, they appreciate our situation and are doing everything possible to help us out.

We have always played on Tuesdays except back in 81/82 when League Cup games were on Wednesdays. I play badminton on Tuesday nights and always had to nip next door between games to the gym to see the scores.

I was very surprised to see the recent games being played on Wednesday and would like to know why.

Weak argument when sky dictate and not the clubs ( not Conway) it'll be in the contract with sky. Think it's a lot more than 30 pieces of silver. (£6m ish)
Plus I assume these fixtures were put out at the beginning of the season. Can't remember any changes other than for live coverage. Got to admit i prefer Tuesdays. ( Probably out of tradition )
But hey it's Conway's fault and not yours. "Really."

Read Supertykes response I think he's in the right direction. Next half season they revert back to Tuesdays.
