442 Struber style My February line up if we are to stay up and all new signings must be better than we currently have.

    New GK
New RB, Diaby, New CH, New LB
    Halme,
    New RM, Bahre, Mowatt,
    Woodrow, New Striker

    Subs

    Collins
    New CH
    B Williams
    Thomas
    Dougal
    Brown
    Chaplin

    Out on their ear

Cavare, Thiam, Pinnilos, Radlinger, Mcgeehan, J Williams, Schmidt

    Squad players

    Green, Sibbick, Walton, Wilkes, Anderson,

    U23s
    Simoes, Odour, Styles

    Not to come back
    Miller, Vic

Ive got 7 in 9 out. Squads too big with not enough quality. No room for sentiment.

I largely agree - but I think we've got 3 decent keepers, with Radlinger the least useful (only due to his desire to play it out from the back, which is largely due to the poor defensive players).

There are no bargains to be had in January. I can't imagine our spendthrift owners splashing the cash to the extent the O/P suggests.
Obviously the defence needs sorting but the goals may also dry up if Woodrow gets injured.

I think you are being optimistic.

I'll hold my powder on this largely, but wouldn't expect more than 2-3 in & some departures. Let's see I guess.
Even with a lot of strengthening we may be left with too much to do & attracting quality players will be difficult in our position as relegation favourites.

I don't think for one second that we will sign 7 players. It's a post on what's needed to be championship standard and this season we are way off. We can reassess these players again at the end of next season and on their league 1 promotion success they maybe championship ready then.

I was wondering which players others would like to keep or let go and how many players we thought that we may need.
Not a clue what the board is planning in January.

Nothing wrong with our keepers, in fact I think Collins and Radlinger coming in was the only positive from the summer window (apart from Chaplin)

I wouldn't rid of Jordan Williams, just don't think he's ready for being a Championship starter, keepers are as good as we are going to get, Schmidt needs to the end of the season to press for a place & McGeehan is OK as an impact sub. At L1 level all those players I'd expect to be OK & as that looks to be where we are heading, it would be madness to get shut. We defintely need better defenders & that should be the priority.

We need a RB, LB and CH plus another striker. Need to shift out Cavare, Thiam, Pinillos and Green. Maybe loan out some fringe players too like Simoes, Walton and Styles. That’s 4 in and 7 out....sorted.
However, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if many of us are feeling happy about our business come the morning of Feb 1st....
