Because I don't want anybody blown up,murdered,supressed, knifed,killed,in fear, in poverty,displaced, in fear, etc...all due to religion/ stuff that has been causing wars for hundreds of years but has never been proved apart from some books ?
Sadly, religion (Buddhism apart and other sensible ones like sun worship etc) has historically seldom been a force for good. I know some religious people do wonderful things but that is a result of them basically being good people who would have done much the same without the religion. Most religions are medieval institutions originally designed to keep the masses under control. They have outlived their usefulness.
