Winning breeds winning. A few cup games isn’t going to knacker our squad but it might just give it some confidence. Are you seriously telling me being beaten by Eastleigh wouldn’t negatively affect the players’ mentality?

Think that Paul Reid also played for Eastleigh too didn't he?

A mate of mine watches Eastleigh fairly regularly after moving to Chandlers Ford from Barnsley a few years ago. He reckons we would get a minimum of 1,000 tickets, about half of which would be standing.

i went to the Havant v Eastleigh pre season game this year and got chatting to a group of 3 reds fans supporting Eastleigh, didn’t catch a name but can’t imagine there’s many!

That match sounds like a recipe for trouble: basically a mini Portsmouth v Southampton.

It’s quite friendly on the whole, Mostly good natured banter, proper non league that. Havant v Gosport is a decent derby though!

Agreed the last thing we need is to lose to either of those clubs.

Ahem...Carlisle at home anybody? Not to mention Altrincham. We have a pretty crappy record against lower league opposition in the cups

Been t he ought Eastleigh a number of times - long drive, but good to see another ground.

But, hopefully Crewe will go through - we don’t want long coach trips to the south Coast - no good for the lads. League more important this year.

Or it could be another Bromsgrove Rovers moment.

Now that was a day out. 25 years ago??!!

If only we had Rambo and Archey to scrape a late win we might be playing Premier League football within a couple of years.

A far more cunning plan than the current one.

Not Crewe they will pump us. Eastleigh are about on our level on most performances so could be an even game. Hopefully take them pens in a replay ;)

    Win/win in my opinion.

Crewe away is a good day out and obviously winnable (but wouldn't bet on us getting beaten)

Eastleigh is a day out to a new ground and a decent chance to get beyond the 1st round for the first time in about 6 years.

Yes I am. This is probably one of, if not, the worst road I have had the displeasure to drive on a regular basis.

was actually chatting about this yesterday, there are plans in place i believe to change the junction on the M3 at Winchester to make it a through road, possibly also at the top end too onto the M40. this will mean from Portsmouth to Birmingham there is effectively no roundabouts or need to stop... now if they only turned the A34 into a motorway too !!
