It leaves a place for the type of player we need on the books in January.

I can see why he's done it, as Cauley has a habit of dropping deep to look for the ball. He's got plenty of ability when he has it deep too. I do think it's misjudged though, he's by far our best finisher and the more time he spends in the opposition box, the more goals he'll score. I'd be coaching him that way, rather than indulging what he wants to do.

Gives us 3 up top when attacking. Hull towed with it today.

I must admit I thought 'wtf is going on' when I saw how the team were lining up. Although he was very advanced in midfield I want him to be our striker in the box. What do I know.

Id say the same, needs to be upfront him and chaplin are our best chance of goals. Swap him with brown.

My concern was Halme playing as deep midfielder, rather than swapping him with Anderson and playing Dougal, but midfield was very good today, with and without the ball.

Halme did great today, so did Woodrow but it doesn't sit right with me playing players to fill a formation rather than playing a formation to suit the players we have in their natural positions.
We also scored the third winning goal with a forward 4 of Schmidt, Brown, Thomas and Chaplin, that group are a few years away from being a championship standard forward line.

These are not criticisms just my thoughts but i loved today, the players put a proper shift in and deserved the win.

Woodrow is an awesome striker, but won't hang about as a centre forward if he's nowhere near the ball - he'll drop as far back as he he has to in order to create opportunities. So he's pushed himself into a midfield role due to the lack of creative midfield play to support him.

He'd score more as a CF but I fear it's true the team will score more with him playing deeper.

When we had Aylott and Parker up front, Glavin and Banks outscored them.
When we had Hendre and Wilkinson, Redfearn outscored them.
When we had Shipperley and Dyer, Hignett and Barnard outscored them.

You don't have to play up front to score all the goals. About time we had a goal scoring midfielder, maybe Woodrow could be it.

Can't see why they're faffing about with one of our best players and leading goalscorers unless it's to **** him off and make him want to leave so they can fill their coffers.
