They'll sell our "valuable" assets and then chalk f.u.c.k. on it.
Our players, quite rightly, would want to leave but who'd want to come in?

The level we recruit from they would all jump at the chance to sign for Barnsley.

Think these owners are looking to sell us on tbh. That’s the only conclusion I can think of with the silence from them after this seasons clusterf.uck.
Even though their blinding English football ignorance and arrogance is making us a championship footballing embarrassment, I think they’re savvy enough to know this gamble is lost already and like I say, think they’ll be getting out of town before next season starts. No substance to this, just a gut feeling, hope I’m right

I hate to pi55 on your parade but I think you're wrong. Just my opinion of course but the plan seems to be working just fine for them and until it stops working I can't see them selling up, as much as I want them to.

I think you may well be right but who would buy the club even if it was put up for sale. P Cryne tried to sell the club but people were not falling over each other to purchase the club. I think Patrick Cryne did his best to sell the club before he passed away and these owners came up with the offer which he was in a situation where he had to get things done. The difference being is Patrick was a lifelong fan of BFC and on limited funds did what he could for the club. The present board are not Barnsley football fans but a business consortium who are out to make profit . Perhaps we need to change the flag one man made us, one made saved us , this group are gonna kill us.

The plan will stop working next season when we find ourselves L1 relegation fodder and the ownersrealise they can't get rid of any of these players on 4/5 year contracts for anything near the initial outlay. Add in the financial rules for L1/L2 clubs and I'd say we will be in a right mess this time next season!

If you're right then many of us are going to get what we want sooner rather than later. It may incur some short-term pain but as a club we're good enough and established enough to get through it.

Once Woodrow and Mowatt are sold I don’t see much profit for them in the rest of the squad. Add in likely poor season ticket sales and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were ready to bale.
It’s where a buyer would be found that’s a worry. Hopefully the fact that we’re debt free would make us attractive.

My biggest concern with this shower is whether we will still be debt free when they decide they've taken out all they can from the club and sail off into the horizon.

From all this silence I think they’re already looking for a buyer. Their little experiment has flopped, like you say, sell the remaining saleable assets in January and get out of dodge if they can. Good f.ucking riddance for me!

Yeah I don't see Lee, Conway, the Cryne family or any of the rest of our board investing much in January.

We need a clean slate from all of them, but it won't happen.

Said exactly the same to my colleague this morning, they’ll either sign players who will cost a fortune or try to build with next season in mind and hope for a miracle we could do another great escape

Our board won't invest in this team if we were in the top 2@. After all they sold Potts during our promotion season surely the writing was on the wall then but non of us wanted to admit it.

Admitted this could be an option - they could sell the best players and decide to start again in the 1st Division - knowing they have greatly underestimated the strength of the Championship.

Im not sure the strength of the championship is all that. If we had anywhere near a competent defence we would be fine this year. I still reckon its harder to get out of the Div 1 than stay in the championship. Weve just proper ballsed it up on a grand scale this season, lets face it, we got up last season despite this joke of a board rather than because of em.

You have got to be joking. So they build another team and we get promotion . Dont you think they would then do exactly the same as they have done this season?ie Sell the best players despite the fact that it has had a detrimental effect on the team and led to another relegation and get rid of the head coach because he told them what the problem was and they did not like it.

You can’t get virtually relegated unless you are playing Football Manager
