Lol. I've just watched Nicola Sturgeon on the news. She wants rid of trident then wants Scottish independence. If owt kicks off after getting rid of our nuclear deterent can we throw her underneath the first nuclear weapon that lands rather than sending UK soldiers to their deaths trying to avert a strike and defend an independent Scotland. You can't have your cake n' eat it. She boils my ****.
Did she say she wanted England to defend an independent Scotland? And btw, if anyone presses the red button we'll all be done for anyway.
I would never push the button, even if I knew nukes were about to obliterate the country. But I can see the value in having them as a deterrent - ideally everyone would scrap them but that's not going to happen and so not having them would put us at a disadvantage, even if we are never going to use them.
Got to agree with that. We pressed it tonight and saw one of the worst games of football I've ever seen.
Can't we scrap em in secret lol, announce that it has been renewed then spend the 10 billion pounds or so repairing the potholes on my street and a few hanging baskets wouldn't go a miss either... Even better fake an Alien landing, have the government first deny then a few months later admit it really happened.. Then a few months later another bluff saying we no longer need trident becuase the alien technology we found along with their alien tech an weaponry for dummies books we recovered have allowed us to become the most powerful nation on the planet... Reckon it would work.. Derren Brown sent as PM to a world leader summit as the convincer..
I dont get her at all, she wants the UK to remain in the e u, she then wants Scotland to leave the UK ( so if for some reason we remain) she will then have a country not in the eu, no guarantee of getting into the eu ( as I'm lead to believe) personally I think she wants independence not just to better Scotland but because of hatred of the union and the English for something that happened hundreds of years ago where nobody alive today was part of it, I was based in Edinburgh and the hatred/ racism towards the English was unbelievable, not just the goverment but the every day English person, I wish never to step in that country again, I hope and pray ( not that I believe in sky fairies) that they get there independence , jog on
Your views come as a surprise PT. Down the years myself and members of our family have extensively toured Scotland. Not once, did we sense any hatred/racism or bias towards the English. On two of our visits touring, we got a specialist handbook showing a listing of folk North of the border, offering bed and breakfast accommodation and have to say, it was our pleasure to sample their warmth, hospitality and genuine generosity. Nothing was too much trouble everywhere we stayed. We visited Inverness and the Culloden battle site and learned for ourselves about the slaughter that happened on that day and given the events that occurred, could understand why the Scots might not be overly fond of the British, but in our experience, that wasn't the case. Our guide on the battlefield reserved his displeasure for anyone bearing the name Campbell because of course they lined up with the British/Hanoverian troops against Bonnie Prince Charlie and played a major part in the battle and it's horrendous aftermath.
We can't use Trident without the approval of the Americans. It is basically an American weapon system on UK soil.
What a load of pish Portsmouth. I'm sorry but you encountered a bit of animosity because of the degree of hatred you display yourself. Take another read of your terrible and spite ridden post. If fact take a long look at yourself. Scotland hates Westminster not the English.
I was always against Scotland leaving the union but I have changed my thinking who in their right mind wants to live in a country run by a p1llock like Johnston and his far-right party running the country for there own gain.
trident is the biggest waste of money ive ever heard of. No one is going to fire a nuclear missile, no one is going to invade the UK, we dont need a deterrent to stop them doing it.
my thoughts exactly. we are stronger together, both as a union and in the EU. however good luck to the scots if they do decide to leave this festering cesspit of a union.
Love going to Scotland and never received anything other than the warmest of welcomes when I've been there
I have no hatred whatsoever, I judge people not of colour/ race/ political pursuation but as I find them, I have taken a look at my post again thanks and I see no hate Whatsoever, I simply pointed out my experiences from living in Edingburgh, " take along look at yourself" ??? What for pointing out my experiences, yeah thanks for that, but please point out MY hatred, cheers
Here he is, please put some flesh on the bones and show us where this " Hatred towards immigrants is please " I'll wait, thanks
you'll wait? please do. its not for me to point out your judgement of immigrants, hatred even. people who are perceived as different from you. you wrote it. you posted it here.... you did that all by yourself. To then pretend you are a tolerant person, someone who doesn't judge when even in this thread you've highlighted how you feel about Scottish people is very strange at best.
