    Burnley. They’re in the top division. Before that they were probably no bigger than we were at the time, but times have changed.

    Assume you’re excluding Everton too.

    tad confusing here Fired - Lancashire ain't what it used to be - not sure if Stockport and Oldham are regarded as part of Greater Manchester.

    My eldest daughter was born there in 2002 and I was convinced it was Cheshire. She's a chuffing Manc, it gets worse.

    Yep, Burnley for me, with Preston on the up.

    Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan and Blackpool have all had been in premier league, but look at the misery some have endured as a result.

    You are right it is RT, along with nine other Councils re- Bury, Trafford, Tameside, Stockport, Wigan,
    Rochdale, Bolton , Salford and Manchester. I know this because we supplied every one of them apart from
    Manchester with their energy requirements re- gas, electricity, liquid fuel, biomass etc.

    It always used to amuse me when we went to present our initial offer to the elected representatives of some
    of the Council's when they knew we were representing the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation.

    The resistance of some by dint of the word Yorkshire was palpable. Quite often we would sit in front of Councillors
    with a red rose in their lapels and until they warmed to what we were offering, they initially seemed very wary of us.

    Aren’t wednesday also the biggest club in Lancashire as they are in Yorkshire, Somerset and the West Indies?
