I must've done but can't remember. Passed me by that. I do recall going with my Dad and too elder brothers to see us play Shrewsbury Town at the old Gay Meadow and one of my brothers being frustrated at him not winning headers from our corners so he gave him some 'encouragement' at the next one, clearly audible given that the crowd was only 2-3k. Result - he buried a header in the back of the net in front of us.
I played against him a couple of times when he played for Ilkeston Town in the early 90s. The first time he played in central defence and the team I played for had a good, quick centre forward - Andy Liddell'esque. After he'd beaten Mr Burns for pace a couple of times, Kenny knocked him clean out off the ball. Claimed the lad ran into him! In the return that same season he tackled me 'a little late' and I tore medial knee ligaments, didn't play for weeks afterwards. He was without doubt the nastiest player I ever played against.
his left peg had an incredible shot, often used to rattle the bar and the posts would shake for ages. not the best defender, but plenty of cultish quality before a horrible injury
The other thing with Banks and Thompson (Little was before I started watching) was that even though they both had feet like hammers when striking at goal, they also had class and finesse and could put the ball on a sixpence, or pass with the ideal weight on the ball right into the stride of their teammate.
I was simply adding some more names to the ones already listed on the thread when I posted, old mate.
