If anyone's just watched Van Gerwen vs Price in Players Championship Darts final then maybe you'd agree that man is a future number 1, easy. Think he's already the world number 2, the quality of darts that man throws is unreal.
I like Gerwyn Price, but not many of us do. I think he's a much needed character for Darts and unlike others who gave it ten ton in the past like Alex Roy and Paul Nicholson he can back it up on the oche. The amount of cash in Darts has actually spoilt it now. Players are more like clones of each other and rather robotic because of what's at stake. I enjoyed it more when you had lots of characters around like Painter, Mardle, and Manley. Now you have very few except for Mervyn King.
Yeah that's quite true, enjoy Gerwyn Price because he stirrs it up a lot on stage, keeps ones like Anderson, Gurney etc at bay. Back in the day it was great, Mardle especially, and Justin Pipe with his infamous coughing but I agree, money has spoilt it. That young lad looks talented who's in BDO Worlds in January, Leighton Bennett, think he's 14 and in a TV major.
Leighton Bennett is class and already beat guys like Phil Taylor in exhibitions. The BDO for the publicity should have picked him as one of their eight for the grand slam last week. Same with Beau Greaves from Doncaster. She's only 15 and already ranked sixth with them.
He should have been in grand slam, some of them like Wes Harms were rubbish, Bennett would have done something decent enough. He'd be a better defender than some we have right now, sign him up!
