He has presumably come here in good faith but he is bang in the Morais slot to take the rap for a relegation which will be wholly down to the owners' business model. We deserve nothing as a club when we carry on like this.
Who says he came here in good faith? The squad and results are not a surprise to anyone. I expect he will know that as long as he doesn’t question the recruitment model he’s safe in the job as long as he wants to be.
I get the impression he's got more about him than Morals, but will struggle with our current crop of young defenders...
Tell us something we don't know. Give yourself a pat on the back. Then ask yourself if it made you feel any better.
I say he came here in good faith. And that he didn't come to be in a safe job as long as he toes the party line. He came here to coach a team to the best of his ability, within the framework made known to him. To suggest he's just a "yes" man is an attempt at character assassination before he's been given a chance. He won't be in the job for too long if results don't go our way, whether he's a "yes" man or not.
He knew what he was taking on, he's mentioned it often. He thinks he's up to it - or wants the 'stretch'. He just needs to get on with it. He may be great, he may be pants, he may be mediocre. I've turned down jobs after doing due diligence and finding the role was set up to fail. For the fans, he really only has one KPI - points to stay up; for the club, who knows what his other success criteria are, or their priority?
Mate, none of us posting on here are going to change anything. It's a football forum where people sound off about something they feel passionately about. Give the poster a break, it's hard enough supporting this club at the minute without arguing amongst ourselves
Yep, and that's why I'm hoping his due diligence was comprehensive. Because if he still came here after watching all our videos and talking with the club, he must think it's a redeemable situation.
Not sure why he's come at all. From thrashing Borussia Monchengladbach and drawing with Roma - to this. Wonder if he'll be able to entice a few of those Wolfsberg players to join us.
Cheers, mate no damage. we're all a band of brothers and sisters, reckon this situation could get worse before it gets better
Unlike when Morais was sacked, I think the fans will make it abundantly clear who they blame for the unforgivable and avoidable mess that we are in.
I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's got eyes and ears. He knew exactly what our owners were like when he heard their rhetoric and said yes please I'll do that for you Mr conway
Big difference between two is we are bottom of the league and he would know that, have also no doubt he would have done his own research into the club, team etc. Whereas Morais inherited a team that was outside relegation, could have easily been fooled because of previous years results underestimated the issues. Bit early to judge whether the appointment will be a successful or not after three days at thee club.
It was miles better! Going down with that squad was a tragedy, an absolute board catastrophe which after this year and assuming we come back next year (which is never a given) has so far set us back minimum of 3 years!
Mate if you read the previous posts Dawson has been a big enough man to apologise. That deserves credit.
