Particularly second half. And we looked effective going forward. Scoring two goals away from home is a good return against anyone. But we conceded 3 against a poor Blackburn team. The defence is atrocious. We weren't put under any pressure at any point in the game but conceded 3. It isn't league 2 standard. Playing Diaby and Andersen as a partnership in a 4 is suicide. They can't play football.
When we play well we lose or might sneak a draw when we play **** we get tonked in other words no hope.
We can pass it about quite exquisitely till we get to their box. And that's it as far as positives go. Our passing it about seems to take up at least one half of any given match. So I quite like watching us play this season. It's the results that put a damper on things. Where are we in the league?
Yes the man from the crystal maze has his work cut out. Deserves keys to town hall if he keeps us up.
Completely agree. We signed 4 centre backs in the summer & Anderson has shown himself to be clearly the worst up to now so it’s so frustrating that we could well have won that match with Dougall in front of the back 4 & Halme in the back 4 instead of Anderson
We haven’t been tonked much. But I get your point. Today was us at our very best I feel. Bit like WBA away. But we can’t defend, at all.
But Dougall was poor at the set piece that led to the third goal. Halme would have challenged for the ball at least.
Don't want to appear too much to be banging the drum for Bahre, but someone posted he doesn't add much. IMO he must has seen a different Bahre yesterday as he was a major influence in much of our build up and played some penetrating 'to feet' passes. He covered some ground and the pleasing thing for me was he seemed far less easily knocked off the ball and on more than one occasion was close marked by two Blackburn players yet still had the close ball control and trickery to elude them and get a pass away. He was also less prone to the sloppy passes that used to frustrate. Hope it is not a false dawn for him- but on that showing he deserves the place on Tuesday over McGeehan who has far from impressed lately. On the downside the defence is still SH*T!!!
Look at Bahre's contribution for their second https://www.skysports.com/football/blackburn-vs-barnsley/409540 His man passes the ball then strolls to the edge of the area into space receives it back and scores. Bahre is simply watching the ball, gently trotting about adding nothing. He does it all the time. That's not our defence being rubbish, that's our club captain not doing his job. He'd just got to follow his man. It's easy but he never does it.
Aye Alright. Blame a midfielder who has just run the length of the field twice for not close marking a man when there are at least two defenders between the shooter and the goal. I thought zonal defending was the thing at BFC and not close man marking anyway. Blaming attacking midfielders for our goals against is a bit harsh IMO especially as Bahre was one of our better players on the day. EDIT Are you saying Bahre's job was to mark Downing i.e. "his man"?
Takes one to know one!! Seriously there was no need for that! MY understanding of tactical play is limited so I was expecting a rational explanation of why you felt so strongly that Bahre was to blame for the second goal and why you feel he should be covering Downing. Instead you resort to personal abuse.
Your response is dismissive and aggressive. You don't start a conversation with "aye alright". The people who complain about personal abuse on here are people who don't know how to talk to people and deserve it. If you want a reasonable conversation act reasonably.
