could i ask who is prosecuting soldier F? il save you the bother of looking, The Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland.... last time i looked, Jeremy Corbyn wasnt in charge of them. I know you were a para, i know you served in NI. I assume you kept within the law, its pretty fcucked up people shooting at you however
*IF* British troops broke the law, then they should be investigated, and if enough evidence exists of wrongdoing then face a court of law to prove their guilt (or innocence). This does not matter if it was in NI, Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other theatre of conflict. There are laws and rules of engagement for a reason. If we just ignore potential crimes by troops, then we are ignoring genuine crimes by troops - should they be above the law? The same also applies to the police, to government ministers and everyone else in the country.
Our current govt sells arms to the Saudis who arm the terrorists that kill our kids. Perhaps we should worry about more about that.
i wasnt a para mate. if things are going to have a line drawn under them then that line should extend under the armed forces. raggyface wants to keep the witch hunt going
but why just the troops why not the brighton bombers , m62 bombers, enniskillan, warrenpoint, mountbatten. etc,etc.. we know the people responsible but they were pardoned under the gf agreement so why arent the troops ??????????
apologies! you are right on your first point, it should happen to everyone, everyone who is accused should have been tried in a court of law and then if pardons are issued everyone is subsequently pardoned. The large part you are either unwilling or failing to acknowledge is that only the terrorists of the republic and and unionists have been tried and pardoned. but on your second point please stop casting the blame for this at JC. ( like everyone seems to about everything! its right wing paper rubbish) Its your own government, your own PPSI who is now prosecuting soldiers..... go shout at them if you ar angry about it.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...rabia-syria-caat-tory-ministers-a9186181.html Have a read about the amount of arms our state (it's one of the only utilities we still make money from) has sold to Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt in Boris' time as Foreign Sec. Our Prime Minister has directly armed repressive, hardline Islamic regimes who play fast and loose with the concept of democracy.
